Don't threaten me with a good time

Greeneville, TN

« on: July 04, 2016, 09:39:54 PM »

After hearing the tone of the cobra 6-2-6 exhaust on a friends F6B during Inzane. I figured I would go on the hunt for a set. I couldn't believe I stumbled on a set for sale in Hartland WI last week. It was a bout a 2.5 hour drive to pick them up.

Owner told me a he purchased a 2012 wing used that had them installed and didn't care much for the sound. Either way I got a good deal on the set, almost like new.

I got to reading some threads on GL1800 sites that the pipes will fit all years of the GL1800. They just don't fit the geometry of the saddlebags as well to the pre 2012 wings. Either way I picked them up last Friday and installed them Saturday morning. I'm really happy with the way they look and sound. I did remove the baffles before installing... Man were they a SOB to get out  tickedoff

The tone is deep, not terribly ear piercing. I believe the Catty-converters do a lot of the muffling on the Wings. A set of those torque loops may be the next thing to come down the line.
