I bought some surround sound speakers which the builder installed in walls and ceiling in my fireplace room.

I've got a 60 inch flat screen mounted above my fireplace.

However the speaker wires come out of the wall about 18 inches above the baseboard and about 8 feet from the TV.

I don't want spaghetti draped diagonally  across the wall. Is there a Bluetooth way of getting output from the TV to the speaker wires?

Home Dep and Lowes sells small wire looms that stick to the walls and you can paint. Run along baseboard and you won't notice them.

So I'm doing some reading and have to point out that the speakers aren't powered.

so am i reading it right that you do not have a home theater amplifier/receiver anywhere in your system? if not than thats where you have to start and depending on the model tv you have it may or may not have blutooth capability built it to get the signal to your receiver and youll need to hook said speaker wires to said receiver to get the sound to them.

Yep I have the TV and I have the speaker wires coming out of the wall. The speaker wires do not have jacks on them. Just bare wire.

So I first plug the speaker wires into amp? And then wirelessly connect amp to TV?

Those wont work unless the speakers have a built in amp. That is an interesting spot for the wires to be are you sure there is no provision for them to be closer like a opening in the wall or something.

Not sure what tv you have but almost sure you'll need an amp to drive the speakers.

Most likely you will need a 5.1 surround sound system amp system or you could go 7.1.  They are reasonable and many choices.  For a person that does not know about these I would go to a best buy, H H Gregg or similar electronic store and find a geek that for a 100 dollars could tell me exactly what to do and come to the house to set it up since it usually involves the TV and either Satellite or coax cable provider box also.  3 years ago I set up a decent system myself, but it can be frustrating, but a good system is a joy to listen to.

SO....

Yes yo will need to have an amp/receiver to drive the speaker.....

It all depends on how you have input to the TV

Most new receivers can take a direct input from you cable/co ax....

SO if you can get the cable to the spot where the speakers come out of the wall then you can put the receiver there to ge the cable input sound thru the speakers.. I assume you already have cable to the TV....  How does the cable run? do you have a basement? Crawlspace.... you could even run the cable outside and poke it back thru the wall...

I have my receiver, DVD player, and cable box on a shelving unit on the west wall of the great room, the TV is above the fireplace on the north wall about 30 feet away... all the cable and speaker connection go to the receiver and an HDMI cable goes to the TV thru the wall.... when I Built the room I ran all the speaker wire for the 5 surround sound myself, I also ran HDMI and 6 runs of coax from the receiver area to the TV location inside the fireplace enclosure .... So I had verbal

SO it all depend on accessibility to and how you get the cable inputs where you need them,, At this point  depending on how you set it up you would just need one cable/wire to run from receiver to the TV....Depending on the TV  and receiver it could just be coax and you could just use a splitter on the cable to go to TV and receiver.....

I could help better if maybe you had a diagram of the room....... it all depends on if you have the cable already to the TV.. if you have that then it depends on where the cable box is, if you are using a box.. etc....

Lotsa variables..... One thing though, I would not want to do a wireless/bluetooth connection to the TV.... because some times many systems have a delay and so the action on the TV and what comes out of the speaker may not match up... which is annoying...

I'm sure there is a way.. I have helped set up many systems for friends as I was a former audiophile- tech head in my 30s.... then I just got something that worked..LOL

I was reading about the wireless speaker connections you posted.. poor reviews and each one of those need power... plus they use about the same frequency as most wifi systems so interference and static are a good possibility....

For the best sound hard wired is the best and pretty much the only option..

Also hope fully the person who installed the speakers know what he was doing as if you just cut a hole in the wall and stick in a speaker you and get vibration and rattling of the drywall because of the speakers.... and vice versa loose drywall or a large surface area of drywall in which the speakers are mounted can cause issues... At the least there should be screws in the drywall every few inches on the sides of the speaker area to stabilize the drywall to help support and stabilize the speakers....

I boxed in my in wall Klipsh speakers- 2x4s on top and bottom between 16" on center studs, then adhesive between drywall and studs and THEN screws every 4 inches all around my in wall Klipsh ... the reason I did this is I consulted a high end audio place and thats what they recommended.... I helped a friend install in wall speakers in a house he bought and because he did not do the same steps, the main speakers to the side if the TV will rattle and buzz at certain volumes and with certain songs......very annoying.. he had a basement so we ran all the wire thru the basement ceiling and the up thru the walls...

Wireless options are still sketchy for multiple speakers setups and multiple areas.... I have most of the first floor and out side running off the main receiver in the great room.. all hard wired and zoned.... I tried some blu tooth for a couple of rooms not wired, but they often had to buffer and they had like a half second delay vs the hard wired speakers.. super annoying.... they were given to my nieces soon after....

Also.... go to a hi end audio store to do nothing but at least pick their brains and see what High End audio can cost9 Macintosh would be great for you, but you would have to sell the Valk... and rob a 7-Eleven)... DO NOT trust the guys at Best Buy or Big box stores,, SOMETIMES you might get someone who knows what they are doing, but most of the time there don't know diddly......

Lastly price DOES make some what of a difference ,,, do not go cheap, but do not go crazy.... you want to match system with the speakers you already have... get a too powerful or too weak amp can over or under drive your speakers and make them sound crappy....

Sorry to be so long winded, but to get good sound you need to set it up right and meet certain minimum standards....

If you want send me A PM and we can discuss with out clogging up the forum...

Here I go again...

How many speakers do you have????

Hopefully you have a Center, 2 Mains left and right (on each side of the TV) and 2 rears, left and right. that is the usual setup for 5.1 surround..... I have an added subwoofer... so I have 6 speakers, but still run 5.1

If you just have the mains and the rears that can be okay to as most receivers today can simulate 5.1 with just the 4, but the center usually has just the voices and the rest of the sound is routed thru the other speakers....

Hopefully this helps Paul.... At this point you are probably thinking about burning the place down...LOL

I have one each side of the fireplace in the wall. 3/4 of the way up.

One each side of the fireplace in the ceiling about 10 feet from the fireplace wall. One above the fireplace mantel.

Friend has wired amp/receiver he's going to let me have. So that will be a start point.

This is only the beginning, you'll have many more questions.  Here is the link for the AVS forum, lots of geeky folks here but lots of "how to" stuff as well.  avsforum.com
