Well, I left Saturday and today tried to start blogging. I am terrible at this stuff. Would rather just ride and put the pics in my head, but here is my feeble attempt. Will try and keep updating as the trip goes.

Enjoy Nebraska Cheesy. My experience crossing the state is that it's about two continents long.

Maybe my experience is colored from crossing the southern part, mostly at night in 1972 on a CB350.  Exhausted, dirty, sore and out of money. Actually ran out of gas outside Nebraska City in the southeast part of the state.  Had forgotten to move the knob from reserve to main at a previous stop. crazy2

Well everyone, about three hours ago I left our intrepid travelers safe and sound, if a little damp, at their hotel on the west end of Calgary. They're in for some terrific scenery tomorrow!

Ive done the northern part quite a few times and the western/southwest once.

My 1st bike was a 72 CB350 (1995). Hats off to you going that distance on it!  cooldude

It was my first bike also.  Seemed huge to me . Left a week after buying it new.  Some great stories including suicidal rabbits and cashing a check at a bank in Fairbanks. Thing vibrated so bad the rear view mirrors were useless unless coasting.  Ignorance is bliss Smiley

yep,, safe and sound cooldude
Having a blast, in spite of high mant. Bob. Just could not get a great internet connection till tonight in Tok
in Alaska. Cool place and uploaded a ton of pics on my blog. Rode 300 miles yesterday in 51 degrees and rain and 70 of it was gravel. Never seen my bike so dirty. And we have to do it again on the way out of Alaska
The price of fun.
In the last 10 days 4200 miles

No further north than Fairbanks. Was going to take hwy 4 out of Watson lake but was told not to by many at there unless I had a dirt bike. Then was going to do the top of the world highway but some that just came from there told me it would tear up my bike. And I need it to get home,, so looks like Fairbanks is furthest north. some guys just came into the hotel from Chicken AK and told me the same,, do not do it with my bike.

It can do a real job on your bike for sure. Beware the soft shoulders on the top of the world highway. Going north from Fairbanks is serious risk. Best of luck

+1 gravel piles up on the outside corners of curves.  Does make for a soft landing if you get into it to deep. DAMHIKT

Talked to Wizzard last night. Sounds like they are having a GREAT time. They have a big day ahead today. They are taking the bus ride into Mt. McKinley Park for 8 or 9 hours, then heading to Willow for the night. I suspect they will be too tired to blog about their travels tonight. But I'm looking forward to hearing about it when he does. His trip has been a lot of fun for me. It's kind of been like riding back home with them.  Smiley
