My Valkyrie Today

Well, this may be a boring post, but it's Valkyrie related at least.

So I took a ride yesterday and because I knew I would be stopping at the grocery store I took the rain gear out of the saddle bags.  So, of course it rained with zero chance.

Today light rain chance so I put the rain gear back in and we rode to Church...no rain.

But, now it's thunder and lightning so no more riding.

So, I got a couple tools out and checked stuff.  Holy cow and I do this all the time, so if you don't, how loose are yours?  Almost every exhaust header nut was loose.  And a couple intake screws as well.  Getting down there also allowed me to see some water spots from riding in the rain that I had missed.  Can't have that!

So get after them loose screws and nuts, and clean those Valkyries !

Maybe,. However, this time I found something to clean because of preventive maintenance, usually I discover needed maintenance by doing the cleaning. 

Besides, my bike wont start if it's dirty

You aren't the only one. I keep my bike clean and go over it at the same time. Some say they bought their bike to ride not wash and that's fine, I do both. Do any of us really believe the weather man?

Exactly Hooter, a clean bike has a lot more HP than a dirty one anyway...

That sure is a well kept bike. I give you guys a lot of credit for being able to keep them that clean.

I installed a modified exhaust on my Valk about 3 rides ago. So a week. The next day I have been checking the header bolts and they all need a little snugging up again. I have star washers installed properly. Is this a common thing? That often.?? Are the new copper gaskets just continuing to seat??

If you put new copper washers, you can snug them every day for a week until they get squished all the way.  After that once a month or so

I used no washers but it may be something to think about

Looking good Jeff, my bike is faster when clean too ! I changed the oil in Teal a little while ago and checked each exhaust nut, well only the right side  now that i think about it, gotta go check the left side now.

Teal and black is one of my favorite colors for a Valkyrie, take good care of her (I already know you do)
