I've seen pics and videos of the carnage.

Bloody and guts everywhere...

I won't say I'm immune to seeing such things, but, I'm numb to them.

This pic though... This pic, with no blood, no gore, cut me to my core, and had me initially crying like a baby, and then had me raging with an anger that's hard to describe.

And then I wiped my eyes, calmed down, and hugged my kids a little extra tighter.

I was going to post the picture directly, but I'm going to post it as a link, click it if you wish, but you've been warned. No blood, no guts, but an emotional gut punch.

Someone, who has not officially been identified (But there are rumors) drove a semi truck through the crowd after their Bastille Day fireworks in Nice, France (Bastille Day is the French equivalent of Independence Day in the USA)

Death count currently sitting at 80, with many children included, seeing as it was a family event they targeted.

Sky News out of the UK is doing live coverage of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y60wDzZt8yg

News report I just saw on TV said that the driver died in a shoot out with the police.

Tells me that it's the religion of peace again.

Oh yes, lets welcome them with open arms.   uglystupid2

Vote Hilary and we'll have millions more of them here.

This needs to stop, it's about time the world powers wiped this group out.

Reports say that an American dad and his 11 year old son from Texas were amongst those killed.

My thoughts go out to all those caught up in this horror.

84 reported as dead as currently reported.   Two Americans.

This saddens me beyond what I can describe.   It angers me to the point that I can't comment.

I fully realize not all Muslims are terrorists but, until the Muslim community stands up and emphatically states enough is enough, there will little trust availed to them.
WTF are you waiting for?   Sad

A biker tried to stop Mohamed, and paid the price. Got me thinking, had I been in his place, what would I have done?

You're right.  Does one really need a big scary truck in order to move about?

Unlike gun crimes this will be the fault of the person driving the truck.

OK folks, for those of you who sent me emails asking, I don't know and have no private or secret information regarding whether or not the French will now be outlawing trucks.    Apparently, registration, training, testing and licenses are not enough................  So, please quit asking me, I don't know.....

I also do not know about pressure cookers so, let's not go there.

Edited:  If I did have access to the afore mentioned activities, it would be private information of a classified topic and unlike Hilary, I take a sworn oath seriously and could not comment.   But, I don't, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Crap.  I am sure I am on a Terrorist watch list.  I have a pressure cooker in our MH.  I have three in our house, including a big one that does many quart jars at a time.

I am sure I will be asked "Why do you need more than ONE pressure cooker"?  More than one MUST mean I plan on neferous purposes with them.

And, I own and operate 6 LARGE trucks, from the size of the one in France, on up to the BIG SEMI ones!

I am screwed.

I am going to prison for the rest of my sordid life.

For what it's worth, some folks don't seem to understand that you can not stop someone who is so dedicated that they are willing to sacrifice themselves for their cause.    The only way to stop the destruction that individual has planned before he/she does the damage is to take action prior to the actual planned event.   That takes good intel.

There is little we can do except to react accordingly and be prepared to defend oneself and family.    But, they want us to do it without weapons like guns.   Some may think the pen is more powerful than the sword and, in some cases it may be but, when faced with an armed attacker, a pen is a pretty weak self defense.   It doesn't matter what weapon the attacker chooses.   Your pen can still be used to write your obituary I suppose.   Your mileage may vary.

Our country/media/politicians need to enter the "jumping to conclusions" Olympic event. So far, no connection between the killer/driver in France and any terrorist group or terrorist inspiration. Yet, everyone is assuming that and spouting off about it. Wow.  Sad

I would like to hold judgement but, in this case, I don't believe it's a huge leap of faith, do you?
Please tell me you'll be surprised when it's announced he was a home grown terrorist with ties to Islam.  All indications lead to one conclusion, one does not need to be a soothsayer to read the tea leaves.    If I'm wrong, I'll issue a public apology to you and whoever else is offended.

Of course I won't be surprised, but I grew up at a time when news was about facts. I guess it's all part of our justified paranoia.

Soooooo, if suppose he can't be positively linked to a known recognized terror group we should what? Accept the fact that his coffee was cold and his toast was burnt and since he had this rented truck he could relieve some stress by going to the beach and killing as many pedestrians as possible. Yea, that's it, of course! It couldn't be because the terrorists have been advocating using trucks as weapons since 2010. No need to be upset with organized terrorists groups just because they suggest a plan of attack and rejoice over the results when an attack is successful. But yes the French should wait until they can connect Mohommad to Abdul's second cousin twice removed and once got an invite to summer camp in the dessert. Would that be enough to satisfy or should we wait for a note from his mom?

Those who mass murder innocents in furtherance of their belief in islam are no less guilty, and no less scum of the lowest crawling form, whether they have any official ties to organized murder, mayhem, torture, and rape or not.

There seems little doubt he was Mohammedan, and no possible other motive is remotely suggested by the evidence.  (like faulty brakes)

When you get out of the truck shooting, well, you know..............

I've already seen it begin... Evidently he was going through a messy divorce, and that is what they're speculating drove him to do this...

Yelling Aloha Snackbar as he did it (As numerous witnesses have claimed) had absolutely nothing to do with his motivations, I'm sure.

Just heard on the news that some of the local children's hospitals are desperately trying to find the parents of children they are treating and can't find them. The implication is that most of those children are probably orphans now.

His name is Alexander Migues.  He did not die, though he did sustain some injury.
