I must say I am addicted to the stock two tone paint on the 1500s, I just feel Honda did such a good job on it that it is impossible for me to envision myself coming up with something better even if it is only my personal taste that would like it. I say the stock scheme however I really like when the stock scheme is used but the colors are different than stock as well. I would love to see a black with antique cream color with the rims antique cream is well. I did have something other than stock in mind and I finally found someone with Photoshop that could do my dream bike and now that I see it, I don't care for it like I thought I would. Let me back up. I grew up in Chicago and I first went to the Schwinn factory when I was about 8 years old on a field trip, I remember one room full of ladies picking up spokes and placing them into the hubs, lacing the wheels and the painted frames moving on a conveyor hanging on hooks. It was the best field trip a young boy like me could have gone on. Gosh, back then having a Pea Picker, Cotton Picker, Orange Pealer, Apple Krate Lemon Pealer or Gray Ghost meant you were the real deal.  I was not the real deal!!!  tickedoff I did have a orange fastback. Fast forward to High School I worked at the local Schwinn store and really took to the Schwinn work life and I also found myself meeting Jim Hurd (I believe that is how it is spelled) the  curator of the history center downtown Chicago and received a one on one tour of the old wooden building full of countless pre war and post war bikes and the unreal history. I became addicted.  I believe the older gentleman were thrilled that I was so entirely into the pre war Schwinns is how I was able to have the one on one day and how many collectors took me under their wing to get items that were very hard to get as my pre war Schwinn bike collection grew to a total of six with one being a Wizzer. I will show pics at the bottom, of this time frame of the ones with Wizzer Motors. I find the pre war bikes as art!!!! So here is my Schwinn - Valkyrie tribute bike that I am not so impressed with as I thought I would be, let me know your thoughts.

I think your first instincts were correct. It's hard to improve on Hondas paint scheme. But I really like your bicycles.  cooldude

Gotta agree about the two tone color schemes. My two favorites are the teal/black and the maroon/cream.  Those motorized bikes look outstanding.

The two tone scheme is what drew me to the Valk in the first place...well, after its raw, unadulterated power.......

Just no doubt Honda got the paint schemes right and this with the chrome is why they are the ones when in a pack of Harleys get all the looks.  Happened to mine again last Saturday at a new bike night in our area.

Loved the bicycles.  Chi town is Schwinn, around me Dayton was Huffy.  Two fabulous companies lost to that huge sucking sound some years ago.  I do still have a Schwinn Hybrid Road bike from ten years ago that works pretty well that I use for exercise and to see the county.

I bet Mike Wolfe would be proud of you Sheffjs
