He succinctly laid out the terrorist events of the last 37 days, set the convention back on track and paved the way for Mike Pence (did I spell it right?) to absolutely hit his speech out of the park

Even my wife enjoyed most of his speech

We need to acknowledge we are at war and Newt sure helped the Republicans to see the stakes

As a disgusted Democrat I look forward to some good debates between the candidates

As to the MSNBC coverage it was disgusting how biased.  Out of 20000 in the arena they show someone yawning during a speech and  step right on bashing the speakers. Unbiased journalism is now an oxymoron at the major networks.  Heck I thought I even saw a Democratic ad during the airing of the convention  how odd?

Why on Earth are you watching MSNBC? That's like playing with a rattlesnake then being upset when it bites you...

Check out Right Side Broadcasting - https://www.youtube.com/user/rightsideradio

They've been streaming each day live, with no commentary or bias, just watching and hearing the speakers doing their thing without anything added or changed...

That may be true, Meathead but when you do the math it's about 80% of the major networks are liberal....against one network. Fox.  All except Fox will be actively campaigning for Crooked hillary, the most corrupt politician EVER to seek the highest seat in the land. Sorry, couldn't resist that last part.

also when I watch major league baseball,
if some moron jumps onto the field the camera cuts away

At the Republican convention the camera STAYS with the moron
while ignoring the speaker

Ok with me to pan to the moron for a second or two or briefly use a split screen but not to make her or him the focus over the speaker on the podium that is the reason all the others in attendance are listening

Wonder if Bernie protesters at the DNC will be ignored or shown?

Totally agree about Newt, Oss.  He does all this with no teleprompter.  He will also make a great contributor in some form to the Trump administration.  Also congrats on being one of the ten people that watched this on Msnbc.   ( sarcastic font )

Serk.  Thanks for the tip.  Even for Fox they spend two much of the time with their nightime hosts when some very good speeches are going on early on, but they do get the biggy ones right with no interuption.  I wold have love to have seen more of Laura Ingram that Fox cut away from.

Now I knew Mike Pence had been a most excellent congressman ( even opposed the Bush and O bailouts, and I mentioned the other day his excellent job in being Indiana governor, but last night he proved that Trump got the VP pick right.  Pence is every bit as conservative as Cruz or anyone else, with none of the baggage and attitude.  Pence hit a huge grand slam last night ( much like all the Trump kids have all convention ) and just amazed a nation full of Repubs and independents and the Frank Lutz focus group proved it.  It is also a glimpse into the kind of people Trump will focus on for his admin., instead of the political hacks that have too long invaded others in the past several.

You can tell a lot about a man, by his kids.  Seems like a LOT of rich kids are brats and do nothings.  These kids of Trumps are amazing.  What fine young adults they are.  They tell me a lot about Trumps character and humanness.  He, and his wife, brought them up right.  Congratulations.

But then you just did, didn't you?  I don't approve of swapping out wives but then I don't exactly know what was the reason for that man or any other (unless, of course, I'm going to assume and condemn).

I agree , his speech was good. His personal history though is not so good. I think that might have been holding him back from the VP spot.

He succinctly laid out the terrorist events of the last 37 days, set the convention back on track and paved the way for Mike Pence (did I spell it right?) to absolutely hit his speech out of the park

should be interesting to see if anything changes at Fox now that they fired Ailes.

I don't see anything changing. They make boatloads of dollars with the format they have. They would be nuts to change. The next guy might not be as effective at the job as Ailes has been though.

Newt has such a talent for speaking I could listen to him all day.

He hit the nail on the head when he said "we cannot sleepwalk through history any more"
