Fridays (Fryedays) are Grandpa day for me. As in, my 4 year-old Grandson Ryder hangs out with me on Fridays. Sometimes we work in the shop, sometimes we kill zombies or bad guys on Call of Duty, sometimes we go fishing, last week we worked on motorcycles, sometimes we work in the garden or hang out at the deer camp. Sometimes we shoot pellet rifles or just try something new.

Today it's back and forth between working in the shop and killing zombies. Too hot/humid/wet to do much outside.

He's got his own tools, tool boxes and workbench next to mine in the shop. He was at his bench with his game pad a few minutes ago. Suddenly he came smiling up to me and said "this is great, I didn't know you had WiFi out here." And showed me he was "connected". His Dad must have put in the password for him at home I guess. Makes me wonder what he will know by the time he's 20!

He doesn't quite have the patience to learn chess yet, but when he does, he'll tear me up I imagine!

Children are walking sponges, they soak things up.  I hear many people say, the kids today are so smart.  First of all our elders probably said the same thing about us at that time. They aren't smarter, they just  don't have to worry about the problems of life and get distracted, What ever they are doing at that moment, that is all they have to think about, it's called simplicity. Of course we are all different also.

Can you be my grandpa??   Grin  I'd love to hang out at the deer camp, shoot pellet rifles and work on motorcycles.

I've been playing chess with my 11 yr old G'son too. He has beaten me a few times. Both G'sons have iPads and can do things with them I can't. Mom is programming motorcycles out of them. They have no interest. Don't know what I'm going to do with 2 roll-a-ways full of a 50 yr collection.
