I have a simple question; do you think every member on this forum is who they say they are?  What I mean is, not necessarily one that owns a Valkyrie, but not a serious motorcycle enthusiast.   More like a Observer, or poser, which ever word you choose to use. Someone that watches the overall influences within groups.  In fact I may not be who I say I am, that may be the guy down the street from me, you never know.  Just curious!

Is anyone ever really who they say they are? I mean, the Serk ya'll know is very different from the Serk my spousal unit knows who is a very different persona from the Serk my spawn know who also is a very different persona from the act I put on around my co-workers...

At this point I'm not even sure which is the real one.

We all put on masks to varying degrees (Except for Willow, of course) and become different people in different circumstances.

Personally, I think a mask on Willow would be a big improvement....., Depending on the mask of course.

LOL!  Thanks, Serk.  Truthfully I spent a large part of my life being who and what I wanted someone to see.   Maybe a quick shot to the head would do a lot of us some good.

As far as which one is the real one, isn't that the lifelong quest we so often embark upon?

No one needs to sign on to read the board.  The world at large can freely watch without participating.  When a conversation takes place we do or we don't the person on the other side.  Sometimes it matters.  Usually it doesn't.

It would also depend on the reader's/viewer's perspective.   The phrase cursed if you do and cursed if you don't is very applicable here.    Some messages are received one way versus another and not as intended due to preconceived notions of the reader.

While there is only One who knows all about me, there are one or two on this board that could comment on my authenticity as a rider, as could some who aren't.  I don't concern myself with proving my bona fides very often, however.

I don't spend anytime worrying about what others say about me. I love my life and I trust anyone till they give me reason not to. Most anyone on here I have met have been great people.

The one with whom that originated would change rather dramatically after eating a can of spinach.  Does that tell us anything?   Wink

I know who I was.
Pretty sure who I am.
Still waiting to see who I will be.

I am also sure that some people won't like any of the three, that will be their loss.
Some will, that will be my gain.

I'm not curious. I just form opinions from who I talk to in person and also from what I read here.

I'm not a psychoanalyst and I now know who i am after some 88 years (I think Smiley)

I try not to overthink, too hard on the brain cells that i have left. Smiley

I actually met Serk in a Pancake House parking lot on the frontage road for Hiway in Sunnyvale Tx a few years back--we talked for a minute or two about our exhausts/headers-I have the Viking-he had something else and was quite happy w/them-he seemed to be same cerebral guy here on the Board

If I am true to myself and can get up every day and honestly look at myself in the mirror all is good. I have few real friends and a ton of aquaintences.  I treat people like I want to be treated. I pick my battles and I'm not always politically correct. If it looks like it and smells like it I usually call it what it is, and people don't like that.
I will be glad when all this election crap is over so this board gets back mostly to motorcycles.

I figured everybody was getting stale talking about Donald and Hillary.  So I figured the forum needed a shot of Vitamin B-12 to for get them out of our heads for an moment, and think summer and bugs in our teeth! I thought it was a good way to get ones attention!!
