So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Covington, TN

« on: July 26, 2016, 09:11:29 AM »

I think I owe it to myself to watch the Democrat National Convention.   Whether or not I agree with the agenda, there are some bright minds on both sides of the aisle.   I think it's silly to (at least) not consider the options.

I watched as much as I could, I do have a few other things in life I'm expected participate in.

I expected to hear and see a lot of Trump bashing.   It comes with the territory.   I had hopes of hearing things that might be middle of the road and acceptable to the small number of voters that have not made their voting decision yet.   I also accept (begrudgingly) that anyone else will most likely not win.   That will not influence my vote, I'm just being realistic IMO.   I have no doubts that Hillary has the qualification to fill the position.   She has been involved in Public Service the majority of her professional life (as to who she was really serving is up to each individual to decide).    I was thinking the DNC would give myself and the rest of the nation a reason to trust her.   That didn't happen.

My conclusion was, it's all about beating Trump and maintaining power.   (Yeah, I knew better but still had hopes)  Probably the same for the RNC but, when you look at how much effort the DNC went to beat Sanders, the Dems really didn't get much choice.   She was and is the hand picked follow up by the powers that be within the DNC and Progressives/Socialist.   OTOH, the RNC didn't like or want Trump and the voter's spoke loud and clear to put him where he is today.   Don't take this as a indicator of my admiration for Trump, I'm really not a fan.   I am still searching for a reason, any reason to trust Clinton.   I view her as a cheat, a liar, a traitor and one greedy bitch who will say whatever she has to and do what ever she needs to, to cover her ass.   Realizing that, I'm still trying to listen with an open mind.   So far, I see eight more years of lies, conmanship and similar government intervention into my life, the middle class being further diminished, the poor getting poorer, our taxes going through the roof, more social agenda being shoved down our throats and the US falling further into to the depths of financial ruin.

I thought it was ironic how the speakers kept bad mouthing the rich and yet each and every one of them was well above the average middle class voter financially speaking.   Who really believes they are going to support higher taxes for themselves.  The record speaks for itself.    Clinton has a proven record of some how making money in everything she has ever done and yet, still has the balls to condemn Trump for being rich.   Irony doesn't really describe it accurately.   As I've previously indicated, I don't like my choices.

There are fishermen and there are fish.   Apparently, the way to tell the difference is to see who takes the bait and who baits the hook.

I understand the desire to reward that individual.

Interestingly enough, (while I don't agree with her), I found Elizabeth Warren to be one of the best speakers of the night.   I have no doubt she's an excellent educator but, she's a piss poor elected official.   She obviously does not represent my values and apparently, not your's.

During the RNC, all the Dems kept saying that the RNC just kept bashing Hillary, and how bad that was,  yet, a large percentage of what the DNC is doing, is EXACTLY the same, except it is Trump.

And, of course, the absolute FAWNING over Hillary and the DNC by the liberal media.

Did you watch it last night ? There was really only the speech by Warren that bashed Trump. There was some mention in the other speeches, but not much.

To me the stark contrast between the conventions/campaigns is this:

17 guys came out for the R's, including the Rubio, Bush, Cruz, Kasich strong establishment guys.  There was a lively pile of debates and state conventions, and despite all the infighting the populist Trump rose to the the top, by a clear landslide.  The people spoke, and like it or not the system worked.  There were rumblings of an attempt to knock him off the podium at the convention with rule changes, but that did not happen.  Democracy in action.

2 main guys came out for the D's, and the D's didn't like the competition, and heavily conspired against one of them, rigged the rules and super delegates, limited to only a few debates, only on weekends, limited the main candidate from having to say or do much, and put the fix in for her federal investigation.  And they got their main man (H) to the convention intact, but quite tattered, and besmirched with controversy. Corruption in action.

And, whoever leaked the D emails has a Pulitzer coming.

Hillary bashing............. if the shoe fits, wear it!

I heard a comparison this morning between RNC and DNC first day.  DNC mentioned Trump more frequently than RNC mentioned Hillary.  I don't remember the exact numbers, but DNC mentioned Trump 88 (ish) times, 23 of those mentions were from Warren.

That could be true. I didn't count. But the tenor of most of the speeches was not Trump bashing. In my opinion. I will concede Warrens was.

If I had to watch Bernie/Hillary/Warren I am afraid I would do something I should not do.

I also did not watch Bush/Trump/Cruz/Kasick/etc for similar reasons

I also think it would be inhumane for force someone to watch them.

I may never understand WHY any true freedom loving american that believes in the consititution can vote for Hillary.

I can understand those that must hold there nose to vote for Trump.

After all this is not the first presidential election where many are voting against rather than for.

Anyone else find it kinda funny that they're railing against big banks...

...from inside the Wells Fargo center?

While railing against building walls...

...from behind multiple walls?

And complaining about requiring ID to vote?

...while requiring an ID for entrance...

Yes, very funny and quite strange they do not see the connections. Much like it took them 2 days to display a US flag.

Ignore what they say, for the most part, and look at their record.

Trump has no political record, He's an unknown.  What he says that he'll do  might or might not be true.
Pence has a political record.  As a resident of Indiana I like what he's done.

The Hilary has a long public record. I don't like her record.  In her case, what she does has been close to what she says, especially when it comes to the Second Amendment AND the Supreme Court.

While legally not guilty of many things, the facts speak otherwise.  Comer told it right (and the FBI lost credibility).  The conclusion, for me, is that she is politically corrupt and power is her first and only priority.

I'll vote for the unknown, Trump, hoping that Pence will be a positive influence.  The one good thing about Trump is he is not (yet) part of the Washington political machine.

I had to watch Bill.  It could very well be one of his last primetime speeches. It's epic to watch someone who has perfected the art of lying with superior communication skills and no remorse or conscience, address a crowd and get them motivated.  It's like watching Secretariat on his last race, the final Space Shuttle flight, the last Johnny Carson show.  Bill is a stud - the most stunning example of a crooked politician who even puts his wife to shame with her lesser talents.

I had to watch him.  He is a classic.

According to his speech, Hillary is the PERFECT partner.  Yet, he risked it all, dilly dally with countless women thru out his life.  Maybe she is not as perfect as he portrayed?  Maybe he wants to be first lady, so he can get at the young interns again?

So far, I've read two reports that say over 700 delegates walked out (Sanders supporters) and were replaced by hired fill-ins.    I have no idea if this is true and don't know that the sources can be trusted.   I know I should trust this information, it was posted on the internet by an obviously un-bias'd source.

wife called me in to watch Bloomberg

Under his stewardship my taxes doubled on my small building in the Bronx, the water bill doubled, the school system has gone to $hit teachers are scared in their classrooms and the police have become traffic ticket writers in the machine to generate revenues

And DeBlasio is even worse

The only thing he got right is that there are many who claim to have been ripped off by Trump because they are contractors who cant get their money without suing. That disgusts me and I know its true

But Trump didnt compromise our national security lie to families of dead servicemen lie about what he wanted to do (build wall etc which Hillary is on video asking for before this latest flipflop) or use a foundation to funnel millions to her pocket and bribe her way into power.

Ignore what they say, for the most part, and look at their record.

I'll vote for the unknown, Trump, hoping that Pence will be a positive influence.  The one good thing about Trump is he is not (yet) part of the Washington political machine.

The thing I like is that Trump had all the establishment A-Holes and career politicians on both sides bitching about him and trying to get him out. He's not one of them and he's probably going to disrupt their little lives if he gets in. With politicians today there is no difference between the 2 sides, it's gonna take outsiders to shake thing up. If he gets in I hope he shakes things up.

Hillary just sucks.

(this is a cut and paste, not my original words, but the facts seem to line up with the reality from what I've been able to research... Very interesting...)

Wikileaks has confirmed that Bernie Sanders was cheated out of the election...but how? How about this.....
So we know Debbie Wasserman Schultz was the co-chair of Hillary's 2008 presidential run where she lost to Obama. So in order to lock down the nomination for 2016, Hillary had to get DWS in charge of the DNC and manipulate it from the inside.
In order for this to work, they would not only have to get the current DNC chair to step down, but recommend DWS for the position. The Clinton's would have to promise the current chair something... Something more prestigious than being the head of the democratic party. So what would they get.....?
According to http://rulers.org/usgovt.html#parties the person who stepped down from that position to have Obama appoint DWS was none other than....
Tim Kaine.

Kind of interesting Trump bashing. The left is really after this guy. Throwing everything they can to make something stick.  So he's a billionaire.  Some 30-40 thousand employees. Says he making money on the backs of little people. They drug out these folks who said Romney screwed them and dumped companies to make money. Not one employee has been found to bad mouth Trump? Said thousands of suites for cheating folks. Riley " Fox News" did fact check and found about I believe some 30 suites regarding contract disputes rest slip and fall and other similar suites either dismissed or settled.  He is a successful business man and all I have read regarding his dealings with employees appears to be far and generous. He's rough and Frank and I guess people fault him for that and hate him. I think it is refreshing and a change from typical politicians. He is not my first choice but the only choice for me. Guess we will Waite and see what happens.

Business men will always be attacked by the Progressives.  Exploiting labor, destroying the environment, all that EVIL stuff that the Left is against.
