Broken Tab on side cover

Any ideas on how to reattach the tab on my side cover that broke off.  I would consider buying another cover one is anyone has a chrome right side cover laying around.

I fly RC aircraft, and keep a small supply of carbon fiber rods handy. I used a pin vise to drill holes in each leg and matching holes in the cover, then used JBWeld to attach it, with some around the area to reinforce it. That was a year a go, and so far ...

Search is your friend. Many posts about fixing it. Not sure which tab you are referring to, but suspect it's the one that was fixed with wiring staples as re-enforcement.

I just drilled a small hole on both sides of the connect point to run a small black wire tie to hold it like a hinge. Placed up high, not noticable and it really works.

I too did the zip tie attachement... really works, and can not be seen.

If looking to buy a new one anyway... try a chrome mini zip tie... if all else fails - before buying one.

I used velcro to secure mine. It does leave a little gap where the side panel meets the center panel, but one has to be looking for it to notice it. It's been on there with no problems, since my tab broke at Inzane in LaCrosse

When the tab broke of mine I filed the edge to accommodate a new tab out of Fiberglas.  I rough sanded the inside and attached it using another three layers.  Much stronger than original

I guess I'm the only one that used a screw, so I'll just mention it. I just used a small inconspicuous screw and dabbed some almost matching paint on it. The newer horn now hides it.
No matter how careful you think you're being, we all have those ' aw crap' moments.

Does anyone have experience with PlastiFix? I saw it on YouTube. Bad thing is you need a good sidecover to make a mold from. Also it is not cheap at fortyish bucks. I purchased a kit but have yet had a go at repairing chrome side covers acquired awhile back.

Don't laugh, but Velcro is a potential last resort.  Repaired tabs usually don't last long.  Those that do have ugly great globs of epoxy or similar material.

I used duct tape, black, to secure the tab-less side cover. The iffing cover fell on the garage floor and landed on the tab, not even a single scratch or scuff otherwise.
