It is ridiculous how biased our major news sources have become.
I remember what news was actually factual and objective.

Please read this article, it gives many news outlets that still give you
"clean" news.

I have grown so sick of them, I've taken to putting the TV in the shop on the Velocity and Discovery and History channels and let the reality garage shows run.  At least they don't piss me off and they sometimes show a technique or tool that's new to me.

I also hope we don't have a 100 days of attacks, attack adds, and whole long drawn out segments on what Trump just said and why it was bad.... but no it was OK. (and visa versa)

Don't get (continually) reactive to attacks, go proactive with your platform.

What Trump needs to do is get back to work and start laying out his platform and plans on various subjects, and explain why it's better than what we have (or don't have) now.  Quit extemporizing like some twitter/facebook/VRCC forum and get to work with facts and figures and details.  Hold their feet to the fire on the issues important to everyman, and let Hillary try to counter with her good ideas (whateverthefok they are) (this is, after all, her weakest position... a cogent platform).  This is what got him where he is, and would cut down on the MSMs food/subject matter for Today's Attack.

Lead from the front, sell your program, lighten up on the ego (attempt a little humility) (watch some old Will Rogers speeches)..... and get to work on the issues.

Throw in good solid attacks when they are undebatable and unexplainable and big punches (there's plenty of them), but forget about the continual jabs.

One paid attack add I would like to see is a perfectly accurate documentary style add on how the MSM is so completely in the tank for Hillary.  Attack the MSM (and thereby Hillary) on fairness, objectivity, subject matter, minutes of bad press per candidate per day, etc.  He is not only fighting her and the DNC, but the media all the way to the finish line.  Lay it to them.

I too have stopped with the campaign crap and probably will not pay attention to it until I feel better and is much closer to election day. It probably won't make any difference though because I'm sure as hell not voting for hillary.

My TVs are also on the car channels and the mindless old series. It surprising how funny those old crazy shows are. I guess there comes a time when the mind needs to wander, but, not very far.

I must also admit the bias seems rampant: this morning CNN's website headline story was the Trump - Putin possible connection.  Err, this is not only old news but Trump has done nothing lately to re-stir the connotation, so why are you bring it up again, on the 'front' page no less?  What, you have to "remind" your readers of the belief?

They only had it up for a few hours - maybe people complained, maybe not - but, considering how much other news is available in the world, was that the only thing you thought headline-worthy??

Interesting list.  unfortunately, a great many people aren't interested in actual news but rather what passes as the news after having been distorted to represent a particular bias they agree with. A self fulfilling cycle of partisanship. Its far more intertaining to let yourself by outraged by spin and distortion than to listen to factual news which doesn't attempt to tell you what to believe.  Bare facts presented without interpretation leave people wondering what to think while the spin tells them what to think. It's a huge battle for public opinion and advertising dollars to increase the already considerable fortunes of the media owners.  They likely don't actually care about the truth, but only about how to increase personal wealth and power while all the time holding contempt for the people.  It's all about the human egos need to be the winner and to prevail over others.

the independent broadcasters are no more ...

 COMCAST

With $18.8 million spent in 2013, Comcast has the seventh largest lobbying budget of any individual company or organization in the United States.[44] Comcast employs multiple former US Congressmen as lobbyists.[45] The National Cable & Telecommunications Association, which has multiple Comcast executives on its board, also represents Comcast and other cable companies as the fifth largest lobbying organization in the United States, spending $19.8 million in 2013.[44] Comcast was among the top backers of Barack Obama's presidential runs, with Comcast vice president David Cohen raising over $2.2 million from 2007 to 2012.[46][47] Cohen has been described by many sources as influential in the US government, though he is no longer a registered lobbyist, as the time he spends lobbying falls short of the 20% which requires official registration . Comcast's PAC, the Comcast Corporation and NBCUniversal Political Action Committee, is the among the largest PACs in the US, raising about $3.7 million from 2011-2012 for the campaigns of various candidates for office in the United States Federal Government. Comcast is also a major backer of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association Political Action Committee, which raised $2.6 million from 2011-2012. Comcast spent the most money of any organization in support of the Stop Online Piracy and PROTECT IP bills, spending roughly $5 million to lobby for their passage

Comcast also backs lobbying and PACs on a regional level, backing organizations such as the Tennessee Cable Telecommunications Association[54] and the Broadband Communications Association of Washington PAC.[55] Comcast and other cable companies have lobbied state governments to pass legislation restricting or banning individual cities from offering public broadband service.[56] Municipal broadband restrictions of varying scope have been passed in a total of 20 US States ................   W A K E    U P !

I truly wonder how old one would actually have to be to be able to remember when the news media was accurate and unbiased? My guess is it never existed to much extent. Mark Twain once quipped that if you don't read the newspaper you are uninformed, but if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed.....my2cents...rick

to a great extent.  Hearst was a perfect example of manipulating  public opinion.  I do think some of the worlds major news outlets, print or otherwise, at least try to maintain an unbiased position with news.  Editorially, well maybe not so much. Great papers have editorials from competing viewpoints

And we here in the US used to mock the Mexican Government for being extremely corrupt.  Who's mocking who now?

I brought this very subject up in a previous post about snopes. Most people fail to understand that without a fair, unbiased critical free press, a democracy can not and will not continue to exist. The way i see it, once the big news conglomerates became more interested in the bottom line than protecting their responsibilty to disseminate facts to the people, we lost our way.
