I just cleaned, polished and waxed both of my Valkyries, so if the sun comes out this weekend, I'll be on my way!

No. It's 100 today and all week the same. What the heat doesn't knock out of me the humidity washes away.

I will be riding to work tomorrow. Just got back from a one week trip to Nova Scotia. It was a great trip, except that I wish I could have spent more time up there. Rode just under 3,300 miles and I am leaving for another short trip on Thursday. Did a total of 14,000 miles since January

Nova Scotia...that's a trip we're hoping to do in a couple years. Looks amazing. Congrats on that many miles.

Spring, Summer, and early Fall months here usually include at least one good (300+ km) ride per weekend in between longer multi-day trips on holidays. Had a good ride this weekend with my cousin on their new Can Am. As with last night and probably tomorrow evening, wife and I also pick out a dinner destination or a little coffee shop a couple of times per week to ride to after work....lots of little neighboring towns within an hour or two from MR. Next multi-day trip will be the glorious Sunshine Coast - Vancouver Island loop in September....a great little 3 day run. Work days include out of office meetings and other business most days, so can't really ride to work....not that I would really want to ride towards rush hour traffic anyway.

I fiddled with the handlebars and windshield on the 1800 and I'm riding on Friday with some folks, including my buddy Dennis with the Confederate Valkyrie... I don't see it on craigslist anymore, I wonder what bike he'll show up on?

Off in the morning. Definite plans; heading West. Weather guessers report we may have the coolest day in a month. A low 80's high.

For the past several years I've worked for a company with offices sixty miles from where I live. I had the opportunity to ride into work three days per week while I worked at home for the other two.
The past couple of months I have been working from home five days (and then some) per week. It's part of that fully retired and contracting environment. Honestly it probably shows a bit in my disposition from time to time.

No problems with deer at that time ? Not in the city. I grew up on a farm but I's a city boy now. I don't typically ride highways at night. A couple years ago, we got caught riding in Yellowstone at night on an unfamiliar winding road full of wildlife...I prefer not to do that again.

Got caught in a cool rain on my way home Monday. Walked out with the bike keys in my pocket this morning but the extreme fog and damp right at dawn made me too worried about hitting a deer and I drove the truck instead.
Hopefully, dawn tomorrow will be great riding weather! I honestly never have quite as good a day at work if I don't ride. Starting the day with Little Martha just makes everything seem smoother I think.

Because if I am gonna be able to feed the family that is where the cases get done as unlike many here I am not retired nor close to being retired. I have a small law practice and if I take a motorcycle (usually the police bike as I just hate having to replace fork seals on the Valkyrie) I can park the bike in front of housing court in the south bronx, literally steps from the entrance and maybe half a mile from Yankee Stadium. Once inside where there is a booth where your camera, knife pepper spray or whatnot gets vouchered (guns do not get vouchered at the booth) they voucher my helmet and I pick it up when I leave. Altho my case today is at the Supreme court building its only 8 block walk and its a great day to walk by Joyce Kilmer (trees poem) park. https://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/joyce-kilmer-park/https://www.google.com/search?q=joyce+kilmer+park&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjZ-7akkKXOAhXJFT4KHQpjDogQ7AkINw&biw=896&bih=409

Because if I am gonna be able to feed the familyOh, you missed a change to make up a great story I've heard people ask my buddy Kent about the scar he got from his pneumothorax, and he told them something about getting shot with an arrow... Oss, if you ever make it to Joe's Fall Color Ride, it is in Robbinsville, NC... basically the same place as the Joyce Kilmer Forest... a giant area in the mountains that has never been logged. Poplar trees get half as big as the biggest Redwood trees... it's pretty amazing... -Mike

In Indiana, each county has its own courthouse (the county seat) and the public library is usually walking distance to the courthouse. If I ride to court, I change out of the riding clothes and into the suit at the library and walk to the courthouse. I have yet to find a courthouse willing to voucher or store anything. If it won't go through the scanner, you can take it back to your car or it is confiscated.
On a few occasions when I have forgotten to leave my knife at the office I have hidden it in a shrub near the court.

Riding last two days to work this week. Stupid weather forecast on Monday called for T-storms most of the day. Not a drop of rain nor any lightning/thunder. Plan is the rest of the week commuting and then a ride with a new Meetup group (weather permitting).

Definitely gonna ride in to the office tomorrow, but I'm not completely looking forward to it.
I used to love riding to work. 35 miles one way. About half of it on a somewhat curvy 2-lane and 1/4 of it on a 65MPH slab where 80 in the morning is slow. And it's all against traffic so I can really get on it. Unfortunately, the years haven't been good to these roads and in some spots it's even harsh with no way of avoiding it, I've tried. There are a few small stretches of decent roads, but form the most part they are terrible. The bouncing cracked off one of my rear turn signals when I had the Cadillac lights mounted to it. Last time I rode in I hit a slab joint and the bars pounded my right palm so hard. No throttle boss and had to keep the throttle open with a hurt hand and kept on hitting more bumps and holes.
On second thought, I'm not riding under these crappy conditions. Takes the fun out of it for me.
Funny, the roads in Westchester are worse than the roads in the Bronx.

Vanagon I park on the northbound side in front of Court so bike is in shade till lunchtime When I park I take out the suit jacket which I folded neatly inside out in the radio box The briefcase goes in the right bag when I leave the office as well Then when I get to court I put on my tie, take out the briefcase and the hit air jacket goes in that right bag, the gloves go in the radio box and I put on the suit jacket and put the chaps in the radio box on top of the gloves
Takes about 2 minutes to do the change over into work mode from happy biker mode
and because the courthouse lobby is really nice and cold, the helmet is also when i put it back on
What kind of law you doing in Indiana?

Oh brother, that was deja vu all over again. Been there and got the tshirt. At work (fed bldg), as long as you had your ID, no scanner, but forget your ID and through the scanner you go (few times in 18 years), it was back outside to the shrubbery (often frequented by homeless), and a $130 Emerson blade. Next time I had a buddy with ID take it in for me. It would have been OK with a 2.5" blade (all federal bldgs), but mine are 4"ers. We had a 90yo vet show up under his own steam for a personal HQ VA hearing, and he had a .25 auto in his pocket (no permit from anywhere). Not only a fed no-no, but a big DC no-no. Bless our security contractor... no one had the heart to arrest him (detain for federal cops), so they held it for him and gave it back after his hearing. They would not have done that for any employee, and got in some hot water for it too. A number of us employee-veteran-NRA types went down and shook the security guy's hand. My wife works security over at HQ DOE. They took a knife away from an armed FBI agent. His credentials covered his pistol and mags, but not the knife.

I live in south eastern PA. I work for a company based in the Atlanta GA area. We have a company Sales Meeting (boondoggle) in Key West, FL next week. I talked the boss into letting me ride to/from the meeting. The best part is that the Co will pay for my fuel, food, lodging, etc... Doesn't get much better.

Woke up yesterday thinking about how lucky I am to have been born in this great country at a time when I could have a fast, dependable 19 year-old motorcycle which always gets me home. Then I rode it to work and thanked my maker as I looked up at the brightening sky above my handlebars. Life is good! Later in the day I had to pickup some electrical supplies so I could finish up a job. On the Valk of course but the gas was on them and I was on the clock. Did I mention life is good!
