About 11 am this morning the wife and I were headed south on Faulkinburg rd. Saw a motorcycle accident being cleaned up,  they were picking up the bike with a shovel and a broom. largest piece was the motor and the rear wheel, rest was shrapnel. car made a left in front of the bike, could see the impression in the right rear door where the bike hit. Looks like another driver with their head up there ass.  Hope the rider survived, but have my doubts seeing all the damage. Every time I see something like that, I really think about riding.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Damn. Same thing happened to me in April 1974. Idiot oncoming driver of a panel truck didn't look, didn't signal, turned across my lane then hit the brakes when he finally saw me and the 750 Ducati hurtling toward him. and I hit him at highway speed. Good thing I'd managed to lay it down.

No charges to the driver! He, being the conscious and unhurt one, told the police whatever story he wanted. "He came out of nowhere!" is I'm sure what he claimed.

It really does make you think about riding, especially with the roads being busier all the time.

Bill I'm sure your wife was thinking the same thing or thinking audibly.

Agreed, makes us all think.

We have such a unique hobby that can be at polar opposite ends in a nano second.

How much bling can we get for a 50s boat?  At least we would still have you to work on our boat motors.

Unfortunately, I see this just about every week on the news in Pinellas and Hillsborough, sometimes multiple times. It's very sad.
Heart go's out to him and his loved ones. :(
If you can't be a good example: be a WARNING!!

Pappy!

I do admire you guys that survive the amazing amount of traffic there.  Up here we have the old (really old) farts on their prescription meds driving around in their own little bubble world. I find myself going from left to right and back again to present relative movement to them when I see them getting ready to turn. That and hopefully those bright-ass LED lights help as well. Be vigilant....don't want to lose a buddy.
