It was really cool, I seen 6 guys from Europe that shipped them over here to rode an go to sturgis. They were taking in the sites an was up near Canon Co.  It was great to see 6 of them old bikes all togather.

..

I don't but the first bike I ever rode was an ex army BSA 250cc single.

Would love to have seen that.    :cooldude:

During WWII, my dad's first position was that of a motorcycle courier.   He told me he rode an HD.   Said it was a POS but, he kept it running so he could do what he was supposed to do.   He volunteered to go to tanker's school as soon as he got the chance.    I've seen a pic of two of him with his messenger bike.    I can understand why he volunteered for Sherman tanks.    It was more likely much safer.     :)

When initially assigned to the Third Herd, he was assigned to be Patton's driver.   That didn't last long, he told me he told Patton that he didn't volunteer to be a General's driver (I would assume that Patton had more than one driver at his disposal) and asked to be assigned to a tank company.   He got his wish.

While I'm not an HD fan, I'd love to have one of those old Harley's.   Dad would probably turn over in his grave.   ;)
