I just watch a program on TV, about currency, and it seems some regions in the US use a currency called BurkShare Currencies. It is money used in just that region to encourage local patronage and to keep the money in there. Interesting!!  Is anybody familiar with this or take part in it.  I caught the last part of it, I don’t know where it is, but I seen allot of mountains, maybe out west.

Not much different than writing a check.   It simply represents a monetary value.   It all depends on whether or not both buyer and seller agree on the value.

It's interesting, it was on Sat. morning Neo shows. They said that a Brekshare dollar is equal to a US dollar, the thing is it's only good in that region and they get a automatic 10-15% discount if they use Burkshare rather than US dollars. I guess the objective is to insure and promote businesses in that region. I tip my hat for their effort, but it is 1800's history repeating itself. But a good way to keep spending local.
