Springhill is sending me a contract by email in a few minutes (apparently the emails and my visit were not enough for corporate and a "higher up " is fixing things up) and when I return it we will be a go
In order to secure this $169 +tax rate we MUST have 10 people book at least ONE of the nights
Please know this up front also book as OSS FALL RIDE group
Thru PM I know baldo and biguglyman have had trouble getting thru to the reservation desk and I apologize for that. When I get the contract back I will update this post with the code they need
Since I have not heard back from anybody else besides Biguglyman and baldo yet who may be interested I am getting a bit frustrated.
These will be rides to remember whether the trip into New England to the covered bridges in Ct and Mass border area, the loop ride thru the Catskills, the Hudson Valley ride and Delaware Water Gap and the Motorcycle Museum in Newburgh
Sure hoping we can get a more than a dozen riders so everyone can save a bundle on the hotel.

Oss, if it gets down to the nitty gritty and you need 1 more I think we can get out of the Comfort Inn. I think we have 72 hrs. But I'd have to check .

CUT OFF DATE IS SEPT 6th but Please call soon, to hold a room all are king suites, no tiny beds you will like the rooms if you are cash
(like my friend from Clinton Tn) then you can reserve by Sept 6 but that is the cut off for holding the rate and the group
With Hook we now have 2 (plus maybe Meathead if we need to save the group rate- thanks for offering but dont cancel yet and read the fine print on cancellations, never can be too careful
Can we get 8 more? We need 10 for either Friday or Saturday nite to save the rate for everyone

Oss, I was looking at the map the other day and I noticed you and Hillary are practically neighbors. Do you think you can arrange a group photo with her server ? For any of the conservatives that are hesitant riding with some liberals. Baldo and I are working on our sign language so you won't have to hear us. How's that for a bump ? Lets get her done guys. |

So, how are we doing on booking the hotel up ?
And for you guys familiar with NYC. On my ride from EagleRider near JFK to the hotel in Hawthorne, are there toll booths I need to be concerned with ? And if so, are they the kind where everybody stops and pays or do you just blast thru and they charge you later ?

If you can get EZPASS on the bike that you rent, then do it !
Best route will be Whitestone Bridge into Bronx and up the Hutchinson Parkway to Cross County Parkway to Sprain Parkway north No trucks or trailers allowed on any Parkways once past the bridge and in the Bronx
Toll to cross from Queens into the Bronx ($8.00) I think
If no EZPass must use right lanes which are cash lanes
Mucho slower !!!
Crossing Hudson no toll westbound
At Bear Mtn only $1. or $1.50 eastbound
$1 at Newburgh Beacon or Rip Van Winkle bridge which we may cross on way back from Catskill ride and take scenic Taconic Parkway back south to 301 then over to Cold Spring and the Croton Dam
No tolls on the Covered Bridge ride
I believe NJF6Cowboy and Wild6 will meet us on the way to the Catskills ride as they live in NW Jersey (Perhaps at west side of Bear Mtn Bridge ) Congrats to Nancy who now has her MC License and is riding a Yamaha 650,
So far only Baldo and Hook are booked at hotel. I will be scouting the roads in the Ski resort areas and NW Connecticut in the next week or so to make sure road conditions and distances between stops including gas stops are where they need to be.

The guy on the phone said I would need to go DMV  Not happening. So how do you NY's get your EZ pass . And how long of a wait at the toll booth would it be without ? Probably be about 10 am Thursday going thru. Also any other riders use Sena ? We are bringing our helmets instead of the rentals. And lastly, how many of those "back off whips" do I need for NYC traffic ? |
