A great time of year

Truly a great time of year to ride a motorcycle and live and work in Indiana. My dawn ride to work this morning was nothing short of spiritual, at least the country part of it. Enjoyed a cool, misty fog with corn fields, hay fields and a few yards separated by thick summer woods hanging over the roadsides. Then it was hammer down on the 4 lane with texting or sleeping drivers and deer interspersed by school buses.
Even had to wear a jacket this morning. Then it was a 56 mile afternoon ride taking parts for a lathe I'm rebuilding to the welder. Just got back in time to shut the laptop off, clock out and head home.
I'm already looking forward to riding in tomorrow. :-)
My oldest Grandson Mason (18) is now working with us and in training to be a machinist. It's pretty nice to sit down to lunch with him and sometimes son Andy who is our lathe side process engineer. Working for great people who own a great company is truly a blessing. It's amazing that 3 years ago I had a job I hated for a company I hated. Now I have two jobs I look forward to doing. Of course, working a lifetimes worth of jobs I hated and (trying) to be smart is what got me to this point. That and marrying a great women 29 years ago after a couple of false starts.
Never forget to look up at the sky and thank your maker for another day on his amazing world. Doing so starts your day off with a sense of wonder which can't be replaced or ignored.

Good stuff! I love riding this time of year with one exception. The corn fields. They allow them to plant so close to the road. This hides the deer to close to the road and leaves no room for much of a quick shut down. Other than that late summer into fall is the best.

Well spoken! It's is really hard to keep a healthy attitude with all the stuff we see and hear in the news.
I'm planning on driving the back roads of Indiana today and maybe taking a lunch. Indiana might be a flat state in the north part but it's my state and peace is where you find it.
"This is the Day that the Lord has made, Rejoice and be glad in it" Good advice in these troubled times.
