  your helmet saves your noggin while getting off the bike.
 A friend bought a 1990 GW se today and I drove the bike back for him.  Nice seat with the back rest but VERY difficult for me to mount and dismount.  Around 120 mile ride home, stopped in the driveway and while getting off my foot got caught up on the seat. I fell backwards, landed on my tailbone and my head hit the asphalt hard. I still had my helmet on.   I was slow to get up, neighbors came to check on me.
I felt very old.  Loved the ride of the bike but if I can't get on it I'm not going to ride it.

Dang,. That was am expensive ride.  Sounds like a hard enough shot to warrant a new helmet. I

Hope your alright! My backrest folds down and I do that everytime I get on or off.

My flight instructor used to tell me  " THE FLIGHT IS NOT OVER UNTIL THE PLANE IS PARKED, CHOCKED, AND TIED DOWN"
