I don't like the gauntlets without the straps either. Probably why I like these so much. They fit perfectly, they have wrist straps , adjustable cuffs, and armored knuckles. Being cheap was the icing on the cake. I think they suckered me in with the sale price. Now I'm willing to spend $40 for some more. But alas like you say they've probably "improved" them to the point I won't like them.

With the features you mention, I agree you got a heckuva deal at $10.
I'm currently waiting on the mail for these gloves, Knox Orsa with a cable retention system. I find that the gloves I like have Velcro wrist straps, but then the Velcro wears out and I have to install snaps to keep them usable. This system might be ideal; twist the knob to tighten and pull the knob out to release. And they come in white, which I much prefer over black for conspicuity. I'll probably end up adding some retroreflective material.

They're not cheap. I sent £80 with my wife to the UK so she could have her cousin buy them and send them to me. His shipping speed hasn't matched Amazon's, unfortunately.
