Don't threaten me with a good time

Greeneville, TN

« on: August 26, 2016, 10:23:46 AM »

I wanted to wait to release this information until the pre-employment process was completed.

There have been some rumors passing around that I wanted to confirm the credibility  Grin

I've taken a new position with Deere n' Company and will be leaving the Construction and Forestry department in Dubuque Iowa and relocating to John Deere Power Products in Greeneville TN as a Factory Support Product Engineer on 100 & 200 series lawn tractors... (If you own a 100 or 200 series lawn tractor, I am not your complaint department! please hold of  comments for a few months please.)  cooldude

It's been a long time coming that I get the chance to move closer to my Wild Bunch companions, I'm looking forward to enjoying the open road on weekends with Joe, Wimp, Gordon and crew. Thanks to the man upstairs I don't have to go through another Iowa Winter!

In the mean time it's hard to leave such a great forestry product line that I've experienced the past two years with Tracked Feller Bunchers/Harvesters and Knuckleboom loaders. It sucks to say good bye to the so many friends I've established here in Iowa.

I'm not sure on the exact relocation dates yet, I'm working out the details Monday, but suspect it should happened within the next week or two

We have a crew working outside of Bulls Gap the backroads are awesome around that area . While Iowa riders are shoveling snow you will be scraping pegs... Good to have you so close now and I look forward to riding with you.

Congratulations on the NEW job.

I have no complaints with my D100 mower (I could use a good parts fisch for it though).

In fact, I'm hoping to upgrade to a larger one soon.

Awesome Reb! Welcome to the great state of Tennessee as Joe would say. I've been here a year and wonder why the hell I stayed sooooo many winters in Michigan.

Good hawkeye, hello volunteer....

congrats on the move/promotion and TN winters surely are better than IA's.

More riding time and might be cheaper living too maybe although IA is pretty unurbanized area where you live....

Going from big forestry eqmt. to smaller lawn tractors surely will be a change and guessing more volume of work with more lawn tractors out there vs. large forest machinery.

best of luck and truly hope it all works out for you with the new job and move and all.

congrats!   cooldude

I left my green mower out in the country when we moved into town.  It was a greet machine and I miss it but not much need for it in here.  Hope to catch up with you at the DRU or FCR.
