I liked Blazing Saddles but "Young Frankenstein" made me laugh more.

Both great movies. I don't know how Mel Brooks got away with them.  I also happen to like Robin Hood Men in tights, it would have been nice to see him in that.

This hits home, my wife volunteers at Gilda's Club (Gilda Radner was his wife, died a bad death from ovarian cancer)

My mom gave me the Blazing Saddles movie poster in a beautiful frame for my birthday this year.

It will go up on the wall one of these days.  WIlder was great with Pryor as well.

the world has lost a great talent, again

Fact is he got away with it because in the fine print of the contract he had the last say on what got edited even after the editors got done. He was 1 step ahead of them. I have the commented version of blazing saddles and that is what Brooks comments on the film.
He says that almost everything they edited, he put back in and infuriated them.

Wilder was good!  The movies mentioned were all good entertainment. With all the cuts to Blazing Saddles as of now  it kinda takes the gist of the times out of the movie. I'm not an advocate of racism but that movie  is very in your face with language. Does the removal of that language  ruin the movie? I guess that's up to individual interpretation.
