Last saturday morning we set off on a short ride wirh Skinhead and the fun guvna along with Al V for a little town on the St.Clair river called Marysville. We were to meet Aguaman along with Seewhathappens Larry and Twobottles along with Ben and Fran. They were holding a car show and some Rockabilly music. After checking out the cars and listening some tunes, we decided to move the bikes under a picnic pavillion as everyones radar was showing us mother nature was about to wash everything down. Now if ya know Aquaman, you know him and rain dont really get along too well. After about an hour of arguing about wheter or not to make a run for it, Skinhead and I decided we wanted to eat and decided we were taking the chance. Whats a little downpour anyway? Besides, it was time to eat.
We made it about 10 miles down the river to the next town, dropped the girls off at the restaurant and parked the bikes under the roof of a nearby bank drive thru. Five minutes after we joined the girls on the deck, the skis opened up.

After waiting out the storm, we decided to head down the river to Detroit to the Oily Souls bike show and builders competition. Oily Souls is held in an old warehouse on Grand Boulevard which used to be one of the truly great streets in Detroit back in the heyday of the auto industry. The original General Motors World Headquarters was located there along with luxury hotels and 5 star restaurants. The area was flanked by beautiful mansions that were homes of the captains of industry.
Its far from the same nowadays as decades of neglect and decay has more than taken its toll.
We arrived to rows of bikes of every make and model lining the boulevard and riders milling around everywhere. After checking out a few of the bikes and checking out the crowd, we made our way to the entrance and stepped inside.

Lots of handbuilt custom Harleys, a badass 750 Honda, a row of Harley dirt racers, and the people that love them.
This was pure Detroit.

If you're lucky enough to ride a Valkyrie, you're lucky enough.
