Never owned a Valk before but i have ran across a 1999 Tourer with under 5k miles BUT has sat for 9 years  ???  Wealthy individual who never rode and passed away.

I offered $1,500 and they called back to say they would accept. Should i pounce on this deal or hold out for something on another day.

Thoughts/Opinions?

If i can figure out how to upload a couple photos I will do so.

Thank you!

how was it stored? You are going to put a lot into it to get up to running condition but parting it out alone will get you more than your investment. I would jump on that.

It could be a jewel... this rich guy didn't store it out in the yard
under a tree, right? $1,500 is a great price.

At $1500 you should pick it up.  Worst case you spend another $1500 and get a perfectly good Valkyrie for $3000.  Best case it doesn't need much work and you end up with a fine bike for less than $2000.

UNLESS the carbs were drained dry 99.44% Certain slow jets are plugged. NOT an insurmountable situation-remove to clean or if it will start heavy doses of B-12 ChemTool. Most likely ALL the rubber lines-vacuum and fuel-are dried out and no longer useable long term. A desmog or a line replacement WILL be amongst stuff on the to do list. At $1500.00 I'd be in if I had the shekels. IF after getting it and if it's more than you can handle-PLEASE DO NOT part it out-get hold of my brother-da prez-He enjoys Valkyrie rescues. RIDE SAFE.

Good call. I forgot about hoses. Might even consider new braided brake lines.

My I/S sat for 7 years in a dirt floor shed. With gas in it...and crap piled all over her...
I spent $1600 resurrecting her.
Couldn't be happier!
