Yeah, I caught that, too.  Could be typo, though.  The V is fery close to the F and his index vinger might have missed.

It must've been a lot of work to rebuild the crankcase and crankshaft.  That would be very expensive.

I wish you hadn't started a thread on pet peeves.  I have such a long, long list.     Sad

The Valkyrie engine is a 180 degree V.  Or so I'm told.

It is a flat 6 or a boxer motor. There is no V.  cooldude

But it's worth it for the extra cornering clearance.

And if a v were straight it would not be a v. There are two planes to a v. No such thing as a 180 degree v.  cooldude

I think because the carbs sit in a "V" that it sometimes gets confused by those who don't know.

Well, since the carbs give the impression the Valk engine is a V, but in fact the engine layout is flat, maybe we should call it an "obtuse" motor. That would seem to cover both aspects of the angles; greater than 90 deg. but less than 180.

Big whoops....has to be less than 180 so can't be an obtuse motor, by design anyway.  Wink  The definition of obtuse also covers temperament and I definitely have seen a couple of those motors in a Valk. This is getting confusing, think I'll go spend some time with someone I love.....going to go shave.  2funny

I wonder if it "identifies" itself as a V. That would make it OK.

If it were a small aircraft engine, it would be classified as an "opposed" engine.

Hey... the original Valks are getting old these days.  I'd say it's a V with saggy jugs.

If you want perky jugs, you have to get a Guzzi.  Cheesy

"Good condition rare motorcycle, these were only made for a limited number of years, it has the 6 cylinder flat 6 engine also known as the boxter engine.Lots of power low mileage. I need to sell it as i have 3 bikes and not enough time to ride them all".

Wonder why some people refer to the 1st Gen. Valks as Goldwings? Could be a pet peeve but since it's at the bottom of a long list....  Wink

Wouldn't an "obtuse" motor just be an upside down V-twin?
