....haul a motorcycle. Parked a couple rooms down at motel on way to Kootenay Lake in BC. Never seen one of these before ... wanted to ask the guy about it but we were gone early.

Plenty of room for the strays along the way.

Actually that's pretty cool. Looks like an American Lafrance century cab circa 1960 something. I would have gotten a kick out of seeing that up front. That was the first fire truck I ever drove/operated in the late 80's so they always provide fond memories.  cooldude

Looks very cool. Probably just for show, it certainly is not needed.

I was thinking it probably doesn't ride very well, the suspension on that truck must be hard and you would feel every bump in the road.

But, being a HD rider, he's most likely comfortable with alot of vibration.

Just kidding.

Both the bike and the truck are beautiful. cooldude

I'm a big truck fan, love'm.   I also think that's one cool hauler.    While cool, it a pretty inefficient vehicle for what he's using it for.   Well, except for the cool factor.

Stripped down like it is, he might get 8 mpg....   Repair/replacement parts will be difficult.    Even though I think it's stupid cool, I'd still like to have it.

Love it. Makes no practical sense. Just a crazy idea some guy felt like indulging, and it turned out great.

Old technology, bigger than necessary, hard on fuel, requires more wrenching than something new...sound familiar?? cooldude

That truck is so you can drive up and down and through the roughest, most challenging terrain to an awesome location where you can unload the Harley and... uh... never mind.

I don't know how they do it in Calgary. But down south those jacked up trucks hardly ever see off road . That is clearly a something that he drives up and down the main drag looking cool.  Smiley

I'm not an off-roader, but I do know many of the lifted trucks around here get used as they should. The local area for off-roading is McLean Creek, where this photo was taken:

There are a few trucks in my neighbourhood that on Sunday night you can't tell what colour they are through the mud.

My Dad died in Dec.of 04. of alzheimer's but the summer before we took him to our home city near Boston to visit the firehouse he worked at for 20 years before retirement. The captain  there took him and my Mom, my wife and I for a run through the city in there pumper. It was my first time and my Dads last time. All the firemen were great and it is a wonderful memory. I was always so proud of my firefighter Dad.
