Another sad day for the VRCC ... 3 Valkyrie's and the bike that hit two of them plus another Valkyrie in a separate accident all on Cherohala Skyline .... The first we had ( 3 ) members hurt when another bike coming the other direction crossed the line at hit Whiskey Man and Sugar then his bike took out Sam as well . The other accident killed VRCC member Ramjet .... Sad day so glad the voice in my head told me not to go with them after we left Deal's Gap , NC.

That second pic was from the worst day I have had riding.

The loss of Roger on top of the earlier crash on the Skyway was just unbelievable.

Agree .... At first I heard about the first crash and then he said " IT GET'S WORSE " I said how can it get worse then Chris said " Roger was killed " ... Sad day indeed.

You know my story with him ... I didn't much care for him at first however as time passed I got to respect him mostly for the fight he had in him ... He crosses my mind all the time and I can't ride The Dragon or Blood Mountain without thinking about him.

Whiskey - I sure am glad you and Sugar and Sam recovered from that day and you are still riding.  cooldude

I don't think Sam is riding except once in a while he would take his son Mike's bike out for a spin.

We (the North Georgia Motorcycle Club) are headed back to the Cherohala Skyway next Sunday the 18th. It is still the best motorcycle road around for me.

Cancer, yep, I agree, cancer sucks.
I'm not sure that anyone would like to know what I think of the industry that has grown up around the treatment of this disease. But, having gone thru it I think I'm 'entitled' to speak my mind.
I have been asked to help 'consul' [sp] folks going thru it and am happy to do so, but, its hard to not speak my mind.

We miss Thumper and still talk about him regularly.  He still rides with us on every trip.

Please excuse my off topicness. A great and significant picture, however every time I see it I pucker.

Seeing the bike on a wet curvy road riding the yellow line brings back a memory of me doing the exact same thing and going down. That wet yellow line is as slick as owl crap. Hope you guys/gals don't learn the way I did. cooldude

No need to sweat about the rider in the picture he died in 2012 . Not sure why he crossed the line he was a pretty good rider   ???

My comment was not meant to critique Thumper's riding ability. Just saying that curves, roadlines/decals and water provide the ingredients for disaster. cooldude
