I think you are declaring a victory to early, the article is really talking about Nafta and manufacturing jobs, not the overall health of the economy. I did read it through and it was interesting but very one sided. I say this not because I am partial to any president or party.
Articles like this give claim to those who dont really look beyond the headline and know the facts to exclaim things that are not really true. Anyone can present one area and say its great but to make an assumption based on this one area and say the whole economy was great is evil and not telling the truth. I know it sounds dramatic but why would you present a one sided article except to bolster a personal view. It boarders on propaganda which is wholly destructive.
Please dont be fooled by this kind of reporting its not factual, its does not support a true picture and allows people to come away with the wrong ideas and assumptions. A half truth is worse than a lie since it contains a small amount of truth and sounds credible till the facts are shown.
I also doubt if you would be open to reason and truth, so I say look at other areas of the economy in the time frame the article is suggesting. Look at the overall buying power of the average worker since all are not factory workers. Look at the monetary supply since it gives us inflation and devaluation of our buying power. That translates into us having less buying power with more money. So you see its not one factor that goes into the equation for the health of the economy or the good of the people.
I will also say that the Democratic party is not the same party it was in times past. Its a whole new party and is very close to being socialistic.
Below is an article from Bloomberg which states just the opposite of the article you posted.
Why Factory Jobs Are Shrinking Everywhere
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-04-28/why-factory-jobs-are-shrinking-everywhereA report from the Boston Consulting Group last week suggested the U.S. had become the second-most-competitive manufacturing location among the 25 largest manufacturing exporters worldwide. While that news is welcome, most of the lost U.S. manufacturing jobs in recent decades aren’t coming back. In 1970, more than a quarter of U.S. employees worked in manufacturing.
By 2010, only one in 10 did.
Did you get that 1 in 10 so that means that only 10 percent of the workers are factory workers, down from 1 in 4. Not only does this say O a democrat has lowered the amount of factory workers but saying the economy as a whole was doing great does not present a true story.
Your opening headline would be great for the Enquirer but I hope there would be truth and provable facts to back up the headline.
