Now we have to take care of this N.Y. bomber. He is now in custody. Wounded 2 officers in a shootout and they wounded him. Now this useless dirtbag is dependent on us to support  him for the rest of his life!    tickedoff

It wouldn't bother me if he had an in custody accident, but, they'll make sure he is handled with kid gloves. Maybe they'll have those gloves made of pig skin, that would be nice.

We need to put an effective death penalty back in place in this country. Not one with countless appeals where the scumbag usually dies of old age before it is implemented. One appeal within 30 days of conviction, sentence carried out in days, not decades.

We need to take them alive, as some who have been in custody have sung like canaries. But, then, after being found guilty...yes, the death penalty for sure.

Throw him in GITMO, and schedule him a trial in 20 years or so.

Give him competant counsel, like Hillary.

I vote for public hangings every saturday at the courthouse. Make it a pay per view event and collect money on it.

No need for water boarding, just use bacon.  They are terrified  of the stuff.  My understanding is if it even touches their skin,...they go to hell, with  NO forgiveness for them at all. If this is wrong please advise.

This is going far afield of the topic that this terrorist should have been killed. But I'm curious why Christians eat pork. As I understand it the Bible commands that all followers don't consume pork. But it seems only Muslims, Jews, and 7th Day Adventists follow this. I read something about Peter having a vision of a sheet of animals. But to be honest I don't really understand how a disciple of Christ having a vision can override a book in the Bible. Anybody care to explain it in meathead terms ? Most scriptures are vague and hard to understand for me. Common English would be appreciated.

Bleed his brain for all of the information he has, all of his contacts, then try him
and let the chips fall where they may

If he is now a citizen he deserves a trial, its the way it is

As for Gitmo,  I think anyone who is an Islamofascist should be sent there.  I define that as someone who wants us dead and is on jihad whether he or she has planted a bomb or just is inciting jihad.

Misinformation runs rampant here.
He should be allowed to explain to us that if we would all give up our God and guns, quit raising hogs, allow sharia law to become the law of our land, kill all of the homosexuals, enslave all of our women, turn over the intellectual crowd for imprisonment, kill the liberals, allow the rape of any woman or small boy, wear sheets on our heads and wipe our asses with our bare hands, he would quit trying to kill us.
Poor terrorist is just misunderstood.

I'm glad they put at least one hole in him, hopefully it still hurts. I'm also glad they took him alive, hopefully he sings a long song. And then dies a longer death.

The death penalty would certainly be in order as far as I'm concerned along with a public burial in an old hog lot.

It's a simple matter of assigning him the right cell mates in prison.

During my years as a prosecuting attorney, I learned that there are a lot of true patriots in prison.

It's sort of like how child molesters handled -  lots of guys with strong feelings about those sorts of things. .

I used to love taking a big bad S.O.B. to prison. They were that way until the prison came into view. Once into the bubble their whole demeanor changed.

Specially if I took a baby raper in. I made sure the trustee's knew why the dirt bag was there. I'm sure the stay was enjoyable and he probably met Bubba.  cooldude I knew I was leaving and hated the place.

Should be no bond! I don't care how high it is. I'm glad the officers came out well. As soon as they heal up and return to duty they need to go back to the range. ..they missed.   cooldude

Not meaning to hijack this thread, just a response to Meatheads query. This is as close to readers digest that I could find :

What, then, does the Bible say about eating pork? Is it wrong? This question naturally arises from reading the Old Testament, because it was wrong for Jews under the Law of Moses to eat pork. In Leviticus 11, God gave the Israelites a list of animals that were permissible to eat, but the text specifically labels swine (pork) as unclean and forbidden (vs. 7). Throughout the Old Testament, the act of eating swine’s flesh was viewed as an abomination to the Israelites—wrong and sinful (see Isaiah 66:17). One primary reason for this prohibition in the Old Testament against eating the meat of unclean animals, including pork, was to protect the Israelites from diseases, infections, and bacteria that were more commonly carried in scavenger animals such as vultures, catfish, and pigs (see Thompson, pp. 52-53).

The question does arise, however, if it was wrong for those under the Old Law of Moses, is it still wrong for those who are following God under the New Law of Christ? The straightforward answer to this question is a simple, “no.” It is not wrong to eat pork.

When Jesus Christ died, He nailed the Old Law to the cross (Colossians 2:14). The book of Hebrews explains that Christ made the Law of Moses obsolete and replaced it with the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:13). Paul explained to Christians in Galatia that the Old Law was cast out and replaced by Christ’s New Law (Galatians 4:21-31). As a result, the regulations about clean and unclean foods were jettisoned, along with rules for animal sacrifice, ritual washings, annual feast days, Sabbath observance, and a host of other ceremonial trappings.

As evidence that the food regulations were abolished, the book of Acts includes an account in which the apostle Peter saw a heavenly vision of unclean animals being lowered from heaven. A voice from heaven said to Peter, “Rise, Peter, kill, and eat” (Acts 10:13). Peter responded that he did not eat unclean animals. The heavenly voice countered by saying, “What God has cleansed you must not call common” (10:15). In the immediate context, the vision was designed for Peter to understand that God was arranging for the Gospel to be preached to the Gentiles. But the interchange also manifests the fact that the regulations for clean and unclean animals had been altered so that animals that once were unclean to the Jew were now fit to eat.

                                                Hope this helps.....

No Readers Digest version ?

In Leviticus God is laying out the Jewish Law.

Part of the reason that the law is so strict was to teach people that they themselves could not fulfill the law.

As Christians we believe that when Jesus was crucified on the cross the law was fulfilled.

Which is what is laid out by Paul in Romans 14.

Christians aren't bound by the laws of the Old Testament.

(There's a little more to it than that, but you asked for the Readers Digest version.)

If you really are interested in reading the Bible there are many modern translations that are much easier to read and understand.

The King James Version doesn't make sense to me either. At times it seems to be written in a foreign language. My preference is the New King James Version which keeps much of the poetry of the original King James but is in modern day english.

There are a couple of translations that read much more like a novel (The Message, The Voice). I have found these very easy to read and understand. I wouldn't recommend them as the only Bible for a serious Bible Scholar. But, they definately serve a purpose.
