New rear tire

Just changed out the rear tire on my Valkyrie Interstate.  I got 24,000 miles out of a Nexen Zeus and it had quite a bit left to go, but the warning bits were showing in the center and thought it would be good to replace it, and there also were a couple of plugs in the tire. The size was 205/55/16

The new tire is a Yokohama Avid 205/60/16. I chose this tire because the profile is very rounded on the tread edges. Whether it makes any difference, or not, with handling, I'm sure it will be slight. I never considered there's any difference between a bike tire and a car tire. I know the larger profile will drop the rpm's which I'll be happy about.

The 205/60 is close to the stock size diameter, so rpm shouldn't  change from that. But it will be less than the 205/55 you had on.

I put the Auston on, loved the feel, like a mc tire, increased diameter, same rpm and 5 mph faster at 3k.

30k miles on your ct doesn't seem like a lot, but it sounds like it is a nice tire for a mc.

I'm on my 3rd Yokohama Avid. The tire to me is pretty close to a m/c tire in handling. Haven't found any negatives yet. I get around 20K out of mine. At $80 bucks it's a pretty good deal.

Been running the yokahama for several years. No complaints, I trust it more than a bike tire.

I really like the way my Yoko handles.
