I guess I can't put full blame on the phone. I guess it was not a nice way to die. I guess it hung on as long as it could but after a mile it jumped off the truck cap and committed suicide. It was run over many times before I realized I forgot to put it in the cab with me . If it was so darned smart , why did it not do something to let me know. I guess I will have to call the insurance company. :cooldude:I guess I should go back to a dumb phone. I at least understand them. da prez

A fellow at work just did the same thing...except he lost his cell phone (a galaxy note 4) AND his tablet. Ouch.

Back a bunch of years I accidentally dropped my flip phone while standing next to my car on E 241st Street in the Bronx, it bounced into the roadway and was immediately run over by a truck
It did not survive the encounter, calling it suicide does take the sting away somewhat, thanks !
too bad, I really liked that flip phone now my family is after me to ditch my galaxy 3
Prez you have my sympathies

I almost had the same thing happen to my expensive SLR camera many years ago. My then wife, our youngest daughter, and I had just landed at the airport near the town where my retired folks lived. I had my dad take some pics of the three of us next to the plane we had flown in on...your basic C-172, then handed me the camera. When we all piled into his car, I had absent mindedly set the camera on top of the car while loading our suitcases in the trunk. About ten miles later we pulled in their driveway and when I got out I couldn't believe my eyes....it was still sitting there. Needless to say....it was a heavy camera, long before digitals hit the market.

Was telling Ross earlier this evening the Dodge pickup I drove hauling the High School band trailer around was NOT conducive to having "stuff"-read cell phone-stay on the dash or the center console. So I had my flip phone tween my legs so I Knew- where it was. Well coming home one night in the Dodge my ice tea caught up with me and I pulled over a took care of business. When I got to the food stop-bout 25 miles after T C B-I realized I'm sans cell phone! Well Sunday I git on my scooter and head back to almost Branson. Found my flip phone BUT a couple of other vehicles found it afore I did! Was a tad mite thinner than when I purchased it! RIDE SAFE

Anyone ever put something on the back of your bike and get distracted before tying it down? A few weeks after my divorce in '88, I had bought a couple new pillows, a comforter, and some new sheets/pillowcases....think it was at JC Penney. I stashed them on the back of my old GL1000 and was fishing in my saddlebag for bungees when this old guy stopped to chat about his long ago bike adventures. After a chat, I got on the bike and headed home. About halfway there I noticed a car was following every turn so I sped up a bit and lost him....I thought. A couple minutes after I got home and realized I was sans my new bedclothes, that same car pulls in the driveway. It was an elderly lady and her daughter, they had noticed my stuff had fallen off the back, picked it up and followed me. When I sped up, the rest blew off and they stopped for that as well. They got to my corner just as I turned into the drive a couple blocks away so headed my way. We all got a good laugh out of it, and they actually came inside and made up my bed for me. Then the older lady walked through the house and was amazed at how clean it was, and was surprised at the collection of weight lifting stuff I had. That meeting had one more pleasant benefit....the daughter, who I found out was only seven yrs. younger than me. While I was talking to her mom about the weights and benches, her daughter was in the kitchen where she, I found out later, was writing down her name, address, and phone number. In the weeks that followed, I found out we had two things in common; she also like cabernet red wine. Moral of the story; always remember to bungee down your cargo.

Insurance company is sending out a replacement phone . Should be here tomorrow. My phone still rings , but I can't answer it. I hope the info in the phone can be transferred to the new phone. Most of the numbers are in the phone only , no hard copy. F Y I . I will make a hard copy now , after the fact. I guess I depend on electronic memory to much.

Sounds like the moral might be "bungees aren't always your friend"
