We've had AAA for our cars since 1996, when I was working in DC / traveling in NC and living at NC. Is there ANYTHING comparable to this for motorcyclists ?

AAA started offering motorcycle coverage this year. I believe it's $30/year. Luckily, I haven't needed it yet... They also have a Premium membership level. It adds one 200 mile tow, in addition to the rest of it.

I have roadside assistance on my MC insurance with Markel, believe it's only a fewdollars per year. Used it once about 12-13 years ago when I ruined a tire, prompt courteous service.

We've got the towing coverage on our motorhome and bikes with Geico. I think it was pretty cheap.

yah, almost all insurance companies cover towing/roadside assistance up to a certain distance and dollar amount. Ask questions since some are only covered short distance to nearest location is all and very low dollar amount covered for towing.
I do not have it currently, but is pretty darn cheap under 10 bucks for 1 full year of coverage. I can let the bike sit somewhere and eventually get my enclosed trailer to get it home assuming I can push it up the rear door opening incline with some help if have a flat tire, etc.
Been eyeing the Condor trailer only wheel chock on amazon.com for 140 bucks if and when I ever need to tow my Honda cycle. Seems to have gotten GREAT reviews although not cheap will be the last one I will ever buy and capable of standing up the bike without straps although would use 2 or 4 of them anyways just in case. I can get a cheaper pingle for under 50 bucks, but not as secure or stable.

Since you ride a Valkyrie you can subscribe to GWRRA Rescue Plus. http://www.rescueplus.org. I pay 90.00 a year (allowing me to cancel the towing portion of Geico insurance) and it covers all four drivers in my family, cars and bikes, and 100 mile towing. Used it once this year. Downside is you also receive their magazine.

Extra $30 for the Rescue Plus. Don't know how much it is today, paid for 3 years for a special price/gift.

I have the AAA Gold RV card, AMA, Progressive, and as an Indian owner I get two years of free towing as part of the initial warranty.
Probably have more roadside assistance than I really need........but better to be safe.....

Yep, Baldo is right AAA is now offering motorcycle coverage basically like the coverage for your auto. I'm thinking about adding it before my trip to Thunder Beach in Panama City in a couple of weeks. Blake
