My local Honda dealer said he thought Honda would wthe earthquake in Japan ealier , the Honda plant had been shut down for some time and was behind.

eartquake aside,  don't you think Honda could at least offer MORE color options for 2017 than just two?  If you look,  how hard would it be to replace the lighter blue in 2017 with a nice maroon red color since I prefer the blacked out rims, exhaust,  etc. on the ugly too light of blue one?

For not doing much of anything different since 2001,  at least Honda could offer 3-5 color choices in plastic tupperware to pick from vs. just 2.

Even the newer F6B and Valkyrie are offering 1 less color from previous year models.  Such a shame!

ONLY good thing is the pricing stayed the same only at 23,999 is all....      It should not go up since nothing different.

One thing, and correct me if I am wrong, is Honda could have easily years ago offer, even as an option to make more money,  a power adjustable up/down windshield much like BMW has offered for years.   How hard would that be to do? 

Not for gas mileage since has been shown will not matter much, but a 6th gear for cruising LONG interstate roads doing 75 mph on up would be nice to lower engine rpm and noise.   Our old Valks stock are slightly louder than a Goldwing, and I always wished at speeds over 70 mph a 6th gear to keep the exhaust noise down just a tad to not have to crank the radio volume up even more doing much above 3000 rpms.    But, I guess why mess with success right?

I was also comparing specs, etc. and the new Valk gets 41 avg mpg,  while I find odd the F6B drops to 34 avg mpg which is even 1 mpg less than the new Goldwing at 35 avg mpg.  Is this odd?  Why is the f6B 1 less than the Goldwing?  Tires?  Aerodynamics/windshield?  Engine/tranny tweaks? 

I would think since it is a tad bit less weight, woudl be 1 more mpg better, guess not?  Any theories/guesses?

I'm not sure what Honda has planned with this. I haven't seen them list the 2017 F6B or Valkyrie yet. I'm curios if there will even be any. If so, what kind of color option will they have for them?

as to cookie's comment, they did offer a white one as well I saw without the ABS option. Still only 3 color option based on package choice is complete BS

I'd like to know how Honda's marketing team is working out on these projections. They have got to have something in the works for a future re-designed model coming at some point. Don't get me wrong, I love the Goldwing and think it is a well design unit, but they have got to have some kind of continues improvement program in place.

I just finished working on a 2012 and was surprised at the number of subtle changes done to the body panels. Most of the side panels will not interchange with the older models along with faring parts.

The current rumor is a total change for 2018 including the dual clutch automatic. I think that will be the real deal for all motorcycles in the near future.

I do not get having an automatic cycle.  It is not that hard to shift gears, especially on a cycle vs. a car.  Plus,  downshifting helps you slow speeds down if needed to.    I think the Honda 700 has automatic, must be the wave of the future?

Cosmetic changes, to me, is not much of a change especially since 90% of owners do not know they have changed, look the same to me.

I get 41 to 42 mpg on my F6B. Doesn't really matter how I ride, pretty consistent. Now if I'm riding really aggressively ,keeping the tach a lot above 4 grand, my mileage will go down some.

Nope, if the "cash cow" aint broke in 17 years, why would you try to fix it? R&D cost $$

RED is not available with blacked out rims and exhaust though, which is what I meant.
