Got my hands on a 22 cal. Winchester model 55 repeater that was in really good condition for $210. The great thing about this gun is Winchester only made 14,000 of them between 1951&55   an never put a serial number on them. I have one from my grandfather and she is a real shooter.

The number and styles of old .22 rifles is amazing.  Bolt, pump, lever, semi: single shot, mag and tube fed. Many made by one company with another's name on it.  Sears, JC Penny, Wards.  Go to any gun show, and there are always a bunch laying around.

A few years ago, I cleaned up an ancient Stevens Visible Loader Pump rifle for a friend.  Had never seen anything like it.  Strange mousetrap.  See how working the pump grabs one from the mag tube, raises it up, and shoves it down the chamber?

Little information on the Winchester 55.  http://homestead-service.com/appraisals/win55/

and here I thought I was going to see pics of one of Oss's secretary pools...???? coolsmiley

My older brother took my dad's .308 lever action Savage rifle, single shot lever action winchester .22 and my old 30-30 lever action winchester 6 shot with top ejection - NOT asking if I ever wanted one when dad passed..  tickedoff  Nice of him to take all 3 guns, plus the old single shot 12 gauge break action barrel cannot remember the off brand name but was very old in like new condition and all I remember is the thing was so light it kicked like a mule.  All 4 guns probably all worth 1 grand total and never even asked, just took.  Not like I need anymore guns, but the 30-30 would have been nice to have at least great short brush gun up to 100 yards or so could rattle off shells almost as fast as chuck connors did in the rifleman tv show, well almost.

Pretty cool pic.  Jess.  The info on the Win.55 you noted on the bottom  is not in any way the same  I have as those are large caliber's but I'm aware of those. I cannot show pic. But I seen there are a couple on gunbroker.com for sale and those didn't look as good as what I have.       Sorry Cookie dough, damn the scoundrels! It just wasn't right you should of had one of those guns.
