The long term Democrat Clerk of Ft. Wayne government was caught on tape threatening workers if they didn't vote for her replacement, another Democrat.. She also was caught on tape possibly misusing funds. 11,000 dollars in stamps were also suspiciously under investigation for mailings to Democrat voters under the City's name. The stamp budget for the clerk's office was only $6,000. When the tapes were given to the prosecuting attorney the Clerk was suddenly taken ill and resigned from the office.  Her book keeping was so bad the Prosecuting Attorney couldn't figure it out.

The Prosecuting Attorney, a Republican, filed no criminal charges.

The Dems must have a damn good playbook and/or attorneys.

On another note, the Democratic mayor of Ft. Wayne makes a higher salary than the mayor of Indy., $124K.

I'm glad that I live next door in New Haven. Although every elected office here is has been filled by a Republican, no one has questioned the ability to govern .

Ft Wayne?     Was that named after you*??   Grin Roll Eyes

Can't figure it out.

That right there is so perfectly descriptive of most urban govt.

[I know it was Mad Anthony*]

Municipalities and institutions:  There are many political jurisdictions and institutions named after Wayne, especially in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana, the region where he fought many of his battles.

Just like the country, Doug. We can't blame the country or, in this case, the city, it's the politicians in the country or the city that do the damage, not the residents.

Besides, Doug, I lived in Ft. Wayne.  Did I get smart when I moved to New Haven?  I'll leave that up to you cooldude

When you have a resident of Ft. Wayne demanding that you change its name because of "Mad Anthony Wayne", you might have to wonder about at least one of its citizens though.  Grin
