Well besides from assisting me with changing out the shocks,
Dan (like most of you) have noticed that I slow considerably going into twisties.  I admit it since crashing 5 yrs ago I lost the edge and became a rose sniffer on almost all turns whereas I used to ride like immortal.  I kept thinking I saw oil where there was nothing but a shadow  anyway

He offered the following suggestion

To lean my shoulder into an imaginary point just below my mirror of the direction I want to go.  This forces me to push completely thru the turns

So today I took out the beemer (which I really havent ridden but 20 miles since plugging the rear tire) and went and did a few passes on the goat trail

Wow, I had no idea why it works but it is definitely working. Still have a long way to go but the smile was there again  Smiley

So thanks Dan, didnt use the brakes once on the trail going back down, or up. 3rd and 4th gear had a great time and the colors on the road are popping now

Evan, I've been in the hospital twice from motorcycle wrecks. Well more than that if you count dirt bikes also. I quit riding for a few years after the last one. I know something about being skittish, there is no sense in riding over your comfort zone no matter how anyone else might feel. I'm glad Dan's tips are helping. And thanks for stretching your zone on those last 20 miles.  cooldude

I got in the back about 12 years ago on the xway by some idiot wanting my space. Never saw him and prior to that a casual usage of the mirrors was made. Now, I use them  a bunch more. Who woulda guessed you would get hit in the ass on the xway!?
