Carolyn and I left towards Robbinsville our normal way, on the
Log Truck, over to Clayton, across North Georgia some, up to
Hayesville NC and out to Andrews. Everything was pretty quiet when we
arrived, a few folks at one of the fire pits...

We did things a little differently this year, more smaller groups.

Joe decided to go to Cade's Cove ? ! ? ! ?

... but on Saturday morning we cooked up another route...

Joe led us out through Robbinsville...

Over the Cherohala...

68 South...

From 68 Joe took us down this little pig trail (Runion Road) to get
over to the Fields of the Wood road...

Runion Road is the kind of pig trail where you really need to pick a
good line...

We stopped in here:

There were lots of these yellow bikes on the ride... Steve's (formerly
T-Bird's), Smokin' Joe's and Randy's. Sue walked to the top of the
Ten Commandments... I don't think those stairs are to code...

A bunch split off from us there and headed back for the Tennessee game. I
was put in charge of leading the rest of us on this cool loop past
the Hiawassee Dam and on some remote roads behind Murphy. I missed the
turn and led us here instead.

At lease there was BBQ...

Check out Hal's new ride:

Robert and Randy and Mark were there...

Wimp and Detn8er were there...

T-Bird was there, he's one tough dude!

On the second night they started seeing who could run up the highest
speed on the radar speed-warning sign placed in front of the motel (there's
a school there). I must have been laughing too hard to take a good
picture, I hope someone else posts one. Stanley Steamer beat out Lance
by 1 mph @ 16 mph...

Sinkhead's son was there, he's a stunt man in movies such as
the new Tom Cruise Jack Reacher movie...

It was a great time, thanks everyone!

Among the many talents you have, Mike, and the one I admire most... is your navigational skill. You remind me so much of myself!!! Good to see you and Carolyn this weekend... A great event, huh! You are definitely one of the 'characters' that add so much of the luster to our group... Thanks for being you!

Thanks for the ride Mike.  It was almost as fun as when we did it.
See you in the spring somewhere I hope.

This was such a good ride, I didn't mention all the good parts,
like short sleeve shirt weather and pralines...

Mike, Good seeing you, Carolyn, and everyone else that made the trip.  The radar sign speed trials were a hoot, I officially changed Steamer's handle to "Speedy" in honor of him beating Lance.  This was an outstanding trip.  The weather was beautiful.  Chong, Gary, Jeaneane, and I just rode back from Jenny Wiley SP in Prestonburg KY today.  The weather could not have been better.  This was the first time I have made this trip and been able to remove gear as I headed further north.
