Come and take them big boys. Better start a company making body bags so they have enough to supply themselves with.

Come armed. I have a few special rounds just for foreign invaders. Of course a credible information source might be in order. Just because it is on the Internet in print (sort of) doesn't make it true.

Alex Jones Channel ? This is what you consider credible ? Just consider if the U.N. really wanted to confiscate citizens weapons. It's ludicrous to think they'd even be successful at 1 home, much less 30-50 million homes.

How many times have people complained about the half truths and media bias for all major networks and newspapers? How many times have things gone unreported or get minimal coverage and forgotten about? Could it be the independent news that will open the eyes of the people. If you watched the video, a test run was already done after Katrina and I do believe it will be in the dark of night systematically. Once word gets out of this type of action and people try to resist the more troops will be deployed. Do you really think small groups of maybe 15 or 20 thousand people throughout the country will be able to fight back against which ever military force comes? I may be wrong and I hope I am but realistically speaking it is not inconceivable, it happened in Australia to a small extent. People were forced to voluntary surrender their firearms.

Completely different scenario from Australia. They are a free country who voted that in. They had no constitutional amendment. Even if a military force comes in to take weapons, yes I think people will be able to fight back. This is all a moot point though. It ain't going to happen. No matter how many times it gets repeated, it's bullshit .

First would come a reversal by the Supreme Court declaring the 2nd Amendment is not an individual right. That would come within a year or two of a Hillary win. Of course, since she will own the courts that reversal might not even be necessary. There doesn't have to be a rational reason given by courts who refuse to protect our rights after all.
Then we would see a ban on purchasing more than one or two boxes of ammo at one time.
At the same time, we'd see a ban on new semi-auto firearms being sold in the USA. And of course, we'd see America's gunsmiths being driven out of business so existing firearms can't be repaired. (yeah, I know, it's already happening)
Then we'd see a ban on new standard capacity magazines being manufactured.
Somewhere in there we'd see the EPA ban all lead containing ammo. (remember that Obama already closed the last lead smelter in the US) and they'd ask consumers to turn in all lead containing ammo to the government. Of course no one would do it but that would allow enforcement officers to go to any place people were shooting to inspect their ammo and confiscate what we aren't allowed to have.
Somewhere in there they would have computerized FFL holders bound books (currently against federal law) and mandated a firearms registration for all Americans.
Then they would begin to outlaw ownership of certain firearms while claiming they "don't want to take your guns". Since they would know the whereabouts of everyone who has bought a firearm in the last 30 years from the illegally computerized bound books and the gun registration they could send "certified letters" demanding owners surrender their newly outlawed firearms.
If you didn't do so, they could stake out your house, break in and search it while you are at work or away and confiscate your firearms without creating a public outcry. Since the internet is now our major means of communication you could be prevented from even telling anyone what happened. And let's not forget, the Patriot Act allows the government to break into your home and leave without even admitting they have been there. On top of that the Patriot Act allows them to grab you and hold you in detention (indefinitely I believe) without notifying anyone they have done so. Your family might think you just deserted them.
Sound far fetched? Not if the bad guys control the courts. The UN is the least of our worries. However, if we suddenly notice our military being moved overseas where they can't defend us for no apparent reason, perhaps we should start to worry about that too.
And of course, somewhere in there reloading supplies and equipment would have also been banned along with a thousand other little cuts to our freedom we have't even thought of yet.
And somewhere in the above scenario (the exact point will depend on your view) America will have ceased to exist. This land might still be called America just as modern Liberals still use the Liberal name although they are now fascists and socialists. But the name won't matter. America will be gone.

No matter how many times it gets repeated, it's bullshit . [/quote] I don't believe the mainstream media would ever report on this even if they found out something which could even be remotely similar. It would cause a mass hysteria. Would they cover it once it happened? To a small extent and those who were "targeted" would be labeled as something media worthy down playing the events. Just because we have the 2nd Admendment doesn't mean at some time in the future it would not be repealed or its definition redefined by the Supreme Court. The mechanisms are already in place for the government to target individuals and certain areas that they can tell from firearm records which areas would be the biggest concern, not to mention if people tried to leave an area would most likely be subject to search and seizure. As I said I hope I'm wrong on all this but pressure on the 2nd has been growing for decades and with the youngsters growing up with the stigma of guns and gun owners being bad or reckless will deminish the number slowly but surely. Only time will tell if this concept is or isn't true.

I don't believe UN will come to your door and confiscate your guns, they want to be hands clean, they will get the NATO Response Force (NRF) to do the dirty work. You know how people say, "They will have to take my gun from my cold dead hand" well! That is exactly what will happen. They have no ties to us, they have one concern, maintaining their orders, nothing personal. They look at us like anyone else in the world, nothing special about us. NRF seems to be the no questions asked, clean up crew of the world, keep an eye on them.

not here in the US will not happen, but can see it happening in other countries not as heavily armed as us American citizens. Our amendment right will never go away, although can see alterations to it especially for buying guns which I am mostly in favor of making it harder to buy a gun doing better background checks than what is in place now. Although, that will still not fully stop a psycho who wants to buy a gun, they will find a way.

The background checks we have now are more than sufficient to stopping the mentally ill and criminals from getting a gun. The government has to enforce the laws better than they are doing for it to work well. More gun control will do nothing except make it harder for the law abiding citizen to purchase one.

The total population of registered hunters in America today is ranging from 23 million to 43.7 million individuals. This estimate came from the 2001 National Survey Of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife-Related Recreation, which was based on the annual data provided by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
23 million - 43.7million "registered" hunters from a survey 15 years ago.
How many peacekeepers does the UN have?
Based on numbers alone, I wouldn't think the UN would even risk trying it.

Nothing I can think of would lead to armed insurrection (in a big way) quicker than an army of blue helmets offloading at some US Port.
My plan would be to sink the ships, well offshore.

Understand something, I am one of you, I don’t have the answers, I try and be a realist, I pay attention to details, I tend to see trends going on around us. I find that history is the best teacher; many people come up with these macho comments having the best intentions, which I don’t see it as being realistic. People have asked me what would I do in such as such situation, I tell them I don’t have any clue, because it hasn’t happened. Some here say it will never happen in the US, keep telling yourself that. Think back about, say 15 years ago in July, and look at the difference then and now, how things have changed, is it for the best, or has it changed for the worst. The thing that is going to change your life in going to move like black mold in your walls, when you finally realize it is there, it will be too late. So I just want people to be realistic and think for themselves, not be pressured by negative influences. Just for giggles! If someone pulled the plug on us today, can you survive for a short time? You could have a bank account that would choke a horse, but let say they had Executive Decision or Martial Law situation and they said we will have one currency and based on world market, and we will give you ten cents on a USD dollar. I know it all sounds nuts. You don’t get it, they can do whatever they want, If you haven’t noticed in the last few years, they have been doing it right under our noses, and we haven’t said a word and no one has gotten prosecuted for what they have done in plain sight. Just my observations, don’t mean I am right, but in the back of my head, I think something is cooking in the DC and WH.

My comments are anything but macho. My comments are the way I will react if this ever happens. Yes I will probably be killed in the process but some things are worth dying for, for the future our our offspring.

The Macho term was not direct at anyone, just speaking generally, I hear the stories all the time, I have seen adult men literally wet their drawer, and they had good reason to. I hope for everyone's sake it never comes down to those conditions, myself I don't know how I will react. Although one thing I know I have had someone put a gun in my face ready to pull the trigger, because of mistaken identity, I didn't wet my drawers, but it appeared like everything went into slow motion though. Not trying to ruffle feather, just suggesting to keep an eye out!

And that is how it will happen. Casual gun owners who inherited a rifle from great grand dad, Fudds, (Dont need no AR to hunt wabbits) and non gun owners will be swayed by rhetoric with little basis in fact that "we" meaning everyone outside their circle, need to go through more checks, more training, dont "need" XXX, while admitting it wont do anything to solve the problem. They dont care because they dont think it will affect them, until it does. There wont be a bunch of blue helmets coming for your guns. The govt wont let your grand kids transfer them to your great grandkids because they will need to pass a background check that requires a mental evaluation, show a secure lockable room for storage, have no children under 12 in the house, get a ammo buyers card and separate background check, only be allowed to buy non lead ammo quantity regulated to what they decide is enough, stored in a special inspected bunker in the house, a FOID, background checks for all magazines over 10 rounds, and 20 hours of training. All of which they will have to pay for. It was just "common sense gun laws" that say if you dont meet the requirements, you have to turn them in to the police. All of the stuff I mentioned has already been proposed, and passed in some states.

Varmintist is right. There won't be a mass confiscation attempt. At least not in our lifetimes. It's death by a thousand cuts. Thousands of new and fun regulations to trap us. Trying to change the culture. Brainwashing our kids through public indoctrination, er public education systems. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Frye and Serk are right. We have seen many examples of their M.O. for years and ongoing now. It won't be like a standing army or even a frontal assault you can identify and target. Analogous to Vietnam - the enemy here is sneaky, backhanded, and nibbling away a piece at a time and we don't even see it or do enough or anything to stop it. The boiling frog metaphor.
A related sidebar. Get your weapons off the grid. Buy from individuals. Friends. Inheritances. Finish your own 80% lower receivers; it is then unserialized which keeps you off the NICS 4473 check - the rest of the AR is not controlled; those parts are accessories (at least as far as we know - not much confidence in that either). You can do that with just a drill press though it's better to also have a mill. I have no comfort whatever in the claim the govt won't compile the data of those 4473s kept by the licensed seller unless/until the dealer goes out of business (note they are doing their best to put them out of business), or that they aren't compiling the data otherwise during the initial check and then sourcing what gun it was and even the ser#. That big data center they built in Utah is perfect for keeping files on you and they had a perceived need to build it - the Big Brother database. There are sales going on now, online. Gun purchasing traffic is huge right now. Buy ammo with every paycheck.
I bought my grandson a Ruger 10/22 for his 13th birthday. We go shooting targets when I visit. And teach him gun safety, coach him with shooting grampies Big Guns. Shared some "gunsmithing" time with him on his gun, installing a Volquartsen trigger upgrade kit, polishing the feed ramp, etc. Haven't taken him hunting; several logistic reasons but working on getting his father to do it. Doing what I can to counter the anti-gun brainwashing he gets in school.

That would do nothing but bad for the ballistics and flight of a rifle bullet. And maybe screw up your bore. If you want armor piercing, get steel core bullets. Of course fatter steel takes bigger/faster bullets, right up to the depleted uranium sabot rounds from the 120 mm (4.7 in) smoothbore cannon. Those will punch a hole in almost anything.
