Well, what a surprise! Lesa wanted a Kimber she had seen pretty bad so off we go.

Lesa wanted to go up from a .380 to a 9mm and start shooting more often. She will be going to an all day female only CCP course early next month and applying for her permit the very next day. She has very small hands so not all guns fit, not by a any stretch!

Anyway, we went over to the coast to look at the Kimber Sapphire Ultra II in 9mm again. What a gorgeous pistol for a gal. Super trigger, Tritium night sights, G-10 grips..... and a hefty Kimber price tag.

They also had a hard as Hen's teeth to find Ultra II " Bel-Air "  there which is painted in the classic Chevy 50's turquoise with white G-10 grips. No Tritium sights on it though. Plain Jane black with no dots at all. Gorgeous gun though....think Jessica Rabbit sexy (of Roger Rabbit fame).

She handled both and operated both. Slide was a B***h  to pull for her and the slide release was as well. Grips fit her hand well.

Did I mention Lesa is a Sig girl?    In the other thread where this all started I did.

We looked at an all new 9mm Sig P225 A-1 Classic Carry which is a limited production promotional version of the newly modified and released 225 A-1. A re-design of the outdated P225. This version is not listed in the Sig website.
The Classic Carry version of this gun comes equipped with G-10 grips and "Siglite" Tritium night sights already installed. Very grippy and the sights are a breeze to acquire. No 1911 style grip safety. The Trigger on the new gun has been re-designed with a very crisp break and super minimal and very audible reset. Slide was a breeze for her to operate and has a de-cocker. Good looking gun with a 3.6" barrel and a single-stack of 8+1 keeps the profile down to just a touch over 1.25" thick. Large enough to manage recoil and small enough to carry in place of her P238 on occasion. Comes with 3 mags as well where the Kimbers are downright stingy and come with only one mag. The gun fit her hands, she could easily operate the slide, and the grip safety was a turn-off for her anyway.
Price was just about half of what the Kimber would have cost.
We bought her the Sig !

Kimbers are at the top in workmanship and appearance.

Sigs have great workmanship and aren't 'pretty' but I am really well satisfied with my 320's.  All of the Sig line is excellent. cooldude

First time with her new Sig.
She has not shot in a while nor is she familiar at all with a 9mm so I was pretty darned proud of her when she finally figured out a good grip on her gun. Was like someone threw a switch...all of a sudden her groups went right where they were supposed to. she likes her gun!

These are 4" circles at 7yds.

Yes, she shot the Shield a long time ago. Mike has one with Tru-Glow Tritium sights and a custom trigger. He uses it for IDPA shooting.
Did not like the way it fit her hand. Shield has a grip shape that does not work for her.
