Was a nice day yesterday, so my bud and I took off for a ride into CT. My foot is healing up nice and I feel way more confident riding now. Had lunch at Mystic Pizza, (meatza-pizza) then headed west past Hartford. Looped back to Manchester and a stop at Cycle-Gear. Heated gear would be nice...Sedichi stuff is on sale, jacket liner is $179. with a free controller...hhmmm, maybe...
Then we did a follow the fender in the general direction of home tour for a couple hours of back roads. Crossed Rt 32, which has some nice sweepers back north into MA.
When we got back to town, I asked him how many Hillery signs he saw? He said 4, and 2 of those had "for Prison" on em. I saw 0, but I was navigating and riding.
We agreed the Trump signs numbered easily in the 100's.
How can the polls have it so close? Are people afraid to show support for her? Or are the polls that rigged?

Sounds like a good ride.  cooldude I think a percentage are passionate for Trump. I think a percentage are passionate against Trump. I don't think there is much in between.

She is always there! It's a 2 floor restaurant, with multiple TV's on all the walls with the movie continually playing.  When we feel like pizza, we just say let's go see Julia...

Jess, are they battery or 12v powered?

I've had one for two years. Love it.

It uses the Milwaukee 12V power tool battery.

They come in both "hoodie" &  "Vest" versions. I recommend the vest.

Not available in store but can be ordered on line is a power cord that connects to a lighter socket.

It's almost a must have.

I was in Northern NM two weeks ago. In small towns, no Trump signs but lots of big Hillary ones. Around here it's 100 Trump for each H sign.

Lesa and I were talking about that as well. We hardly ever see any Hillary signs, in yards or on bumpers. More Hillary for Prison than just plain Hillary signs.

In NoVA there are usually millions of D signs (and only R signs out in the country)

The R signs are still out in the country, but the D signs are way, way down in suburbia, and almost no D bumper stickers (and the O bumper stickers have been removed by the tens of thousands).

I even had R people going door to door in my neighborhood, which I have never seen for 25 years.  I wished them well (and asked if they were wearing vests).  They said that was not funny, and I said I wasn't trying to be funny.

I've noticed the lack of Hillary signs for a while and wrote it up to not going into any cities.

Most country folk vote Republican.

This past fall, at a county fair in CT, the Democratic tent had all kinds of signs for all their local, county and state Democratic Candidates, but not one Hillary sign.

We stopped and asked about that and they would not give us a reason.

I have had my Trump sign out since July.  First on my street.  Many more have sprung up since.  Last night I was over at my buddies Harley fix it shop with other friends.  The wife came over and surprised me with a Trumplican shirt and she had one.  When I got home both her and my boy gathered around me - very unusual.  I knew something was up.  Then I walked into our living room and was taken back as someone was standing by my office doors.  Wholly jumpin jeepers.  It was a life size cardboard figure of the Donald himself with both thumbs out.

Very few Hillary signs here that don't suggest prison time. Even the yards that have signs for other Dem candidates don't have Hillary signs. I guess most people don't want to be associated with crime families.

Been saying that for months.

I think the polling models are based on the assumption that the race is between Hillary, the Democrat on the Democrat ticket, vs. Donald Trump the Republican on the Republican ticket.
This is wrong.

My take on why the polls are wrong is because the race is between Hillary, the Democrat on the Democrat ticket vs. Donald Trump the wildly popular Independant Candidate on the Republican ticket.

There is an entire and huge demographic not being accounted for in the polls. These are not the standard Independent voters. These are the Perot type independent voters. The ones usually considered off the grid. The ones that don't vote because they won't vote for the establishment political partisan lackeys from either party.

Trump has got the vote of these guys, a significant percentage of the usual independent voters and the GOP.

You might be right. But I doubt it. Polls are polls, they can be manipulated. The ones that have been accurate in the past are the ones I pay attention to.

I'll take it a bit farther as well.
On Mrs. Clinton side... I do not sense any significant enthusiasm for her.
All of the scandals will have a significant effect on the Democrat turnout. Even many Democrats cannot tolerate the constant scandals and obvious lack of integrity.
I believe the Clinton camp is exceedingly over optimistic in their consideration of the voter turnout related to the minority demographics.

So I see the election falling out like this:

Trump gets the "Perot" type Independent voters which will be significant, the GOP will come out in force to ensure votes against Hillary and the general independent voters will break slightly towards Trump.

Hillary gets the anemic support of Democrat voters with maybe a slight bump from the women demographic. But I don't see the women vote being significant here. Any other woman, the women demographic would be insurmountable. But with Hillary, not so much.
She does get the 4.2 million dead people votes that will likely carry her over the top though.

Well Moonshot, you've got so many things wrong I must reply. First of all, to say that someone who has insulted women in so many ways is only going to get a slight bump with them is simply delusional.  coolsmiley He is going to get killed by women. His only hope is there are enough pissed off males to mitigate it. I have my doubts. You are correct in that many democrats are tired of the scandals and are not enthusiastic about her. You completely underestimate the disdain for Trump and how that alone will drive the vote. A breath of life was felt by the Trump campaign with Comey's statement a few days ago. But that's all it was, was a breath. They were on course to lose 400 to 135. Now they've stemmed the bloodletting. It will only be 320 to 210.

Not suggesting that Trump is going to rake in the Women vote. Just suggesting that it won't be nearly as robust for Hillary as they are thinking. Women are smart and discerning. They see corruption and know that the Clintons are up to their eyeballs in it.
The women I know, nearly to everyone of them either likes and leans toward Trump or can't stand either.

when I am in the wind on a cycle,  the last thing I look for are political signs in yards, just saying.. Roll Eyes

Trying not to change subject, but since this subject has turned to politics,  I have only had one person come up to my house being yesterday on a ballot question to support locally that big money is not free speech theme, basically from what I got out of her is that supporting that big business bucks and other shifty money coming in from who knows where has to be restricted and preferably OUT of govt. and if enough people support this (we the people she was preaching),  that the govt. has to listen for a change.

I agreed but said good luck big corrupt bucks whether illegal or legal has been around before we were born.  I guess it is a movement going around, not sure if local or nationally since I do not follow politics that much?

It was unreal though my neighbor, who is a bit vocal and well just say 'different',  argued with her and raised his voice to her in his driveway enough so I could hear someone talking inside my house (was them) about politics in general.   I asked her after she was done giving her speech,  on how that talk went with my neighbor and she just shook her head and said he is pretty hard to talk to - gee,  tell me something I do not know if he starts up on being strictly democrat, his kids strictly republican again,  I am going to scream.  Trying to tell him that being either IN GENERAL democrat or republican should not matter as much as the PERSON running for each party.   I think that PERSON is more important than strictly voting for either democrat or republican party.   uglystupid2

My neighbors across the street (very nice black family) had a huge Trump flag flying from the bed of the truck yesterday. I saw Mr. Jackson out so went and talked to him, he said what turned him off of Clinton was her saying she was for the black community when in reality she is against them and will continue to seperate black and whites just like obama when they should be bringing them together. He said he also hates that dumb ______. (Add in your own expletive) Speaking of Obama.

So Craig, how was your ride?

You were on a motorcycle, right?

Ride was great Bill, still not working but can ride Dr. said! (just told him I wanted to ride my bike, didn't mention it was 900 lbs.)
Tuesday & Thursday are looking fine for riding next week too. Already voted so no worries there.
And no sign counting!!!

Turns out not what or where,
but who you ride with really matters
