Just a thought, but from all of the news reports (except for the poop dump at  the Dem HQ) the vandalism threats and hate are pretty much one sided.

I did the same thing to a dog in our neighborhood back when I was a teenager. For some reason he kept coming to our house and peeing on the downspout right outside our kitchen table, quite a stench eventually. I hooked an elec. fence charger up to the downspout and waited, the mutt came by the same time every day. One squirt, a rather loud anguished yelp, and he took off across the yard. First time I ever saw a dog drag his belly at 20 mph, and bite at himself. Never saw him again.  Grin

As for the spikes under the sign, I did something very similar to a mailbox many years ago. The 'hood we lived in suddenly became a target for mailbox annihilation, mine included. I replaced it once only to see it be trashed once again, as in the above picture....they simply ran over them with the kids old buick he was driving. I picked up a 4' piece of 3" angle iron, cut one end at an angle so it looked like a spear, then ground it fairly sharp. Bought some Sakrete, dug a hole about 3' deep and stuck the iron in the ground with the pointed end roughly 12" above ground.  Then slipped a 4"x 4" square vinyl fence post cover down over it with the box on top. Looked rather innocent. About 2:00am a couple nights later, I hear this horrendous noise outside, tires screeching and a lot of yelling and cussing. I observed from inside while calling 911. The piece of angle iron ripped out his tie rod and mangled his oil pan, along with a couple other items. We lived on a corner and he had dumped a full crankcase of oil on the driveway and lawn, parts were laying all over. The cops were there in under 5 minutes and hauled off two teenagers and the father of one of them. Problem solved and the cops had a good laugh when I told them what I had done.

we had a neighbor one day that got tired of having his mailbox run over.
he got a peice of railroad track iron and preceded to bury it 8 feet into the ground with 4 feet sticking out.
mounted the mailbox on top of the iron then built a wooden casing around the post.
2 nights later about 3am they heard a pretty good crash.
walked outside and there was the car wrapped around that post. it wasn't going anywhere.

Local here about 2 weeks ago they found a stolen car left on the side of the road that the theif vandalized but trashing it with a sledge hammer then spray painting F&@K TRUMP on the side of it. The police figured it had been stolen and vandalized because of the Trump-Pence bumper stickers. The car was a newer Cadillac STS Shocked

We have had some local stories about a local GOP office getting vandallized.

That is SO immature.

I LOVE the stories about the "mailbox poles". If it kept happening to me, I'd probably say F*** it, get a PO box and have all my mail sent there.

I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV - but.

In today's litigious world, with the Free crap Army looking for the Big Meal Ticket, I'd be careful of what your trap might do to such jerks.  My folks had a neighbor with a house out in front of theirs, at the end of a county road, T intersection with a 4-lane undivided state highway in the rural area several miles from towns in both directions, along the shore of Lake Michigan.  WI has the highest occurence of neighborhood bars in the country.  Read, lotsa drunks on the road. This location is about 3 miles from, shall we say, a large neighborhood of 96% Obama voters.  A high percentage of vintage Caddys, Oldsmobiles & Buicks for those who can't fit the 20 yr old Caddy in their budget.  AKA "ghetto sleds".  This neighbor got tired of drunks missing the stop sign, flashing lights, rumble bars and railroad tracks indicating you better stop - and running into his house at high speed.  One such "sled" 70's Olds flew into his house at estimated 80 per and completely destroyed it. Fortunately they were upstairs putting the kid to bed and no one was killed - not even the drunk.

So they put a 50-ton boulder in their front lawn in front of the new house.

It wasn't long before another drunk plowed into the boulder, was killed, and his family sued the neighbor for putting up a trap.  And won.

Some of this is of course thx to the liberal courts in WI.  That's a whole nother story.

They moved.  The new owners removed the boulder and installed an antique tractor as a piece of "art" instead.  A BIG one.

There is a very similar story regarding another county road "E" a couple miles south, also ending on Memorial Hwy 32.

Put up a big barricade to protect your house and family from drunk drivers and you might lose everything you own in court.  Especially in a lefty state like WI.

One of the biggest reasons I moved away was due to the unfair courts and politics.  Moved to the very red state of CO in '87.  And now look what's happened.

I DO like the concepts described here.  Especially the sizzling weiner one.  Had that happen to me once, as a teenager thx to my comedian Kansas farm kid cousin.  But I think that has potential litigation as well.

I like the tire poppers.  Even that's a "trap" the courts take a dim view of.  Maybe put 2-3 more discrete "caltrops" under the sign.  Google it. I've seen sites that sell them.  Man that's asking for trouble.

Been there, done that.

On the farm, the boys would dare each other to pee on the electric fence. Only difference is the single wire passing the stream over, and this flow onto the grid. Same results, just a lot shorter on the fence.

Wasn't it here that someone posted about filling their mail box with concrete for those who drive by and hit them with a bat.

Running over political signs is just another reason this Campaign has turned into an out of control CF.

Years ago when I was involved in politics and people began running over our signs, some of ur people would collect old fashioned cast iron sill weights and place them at radiator height between the front-back faces of the sign.

I was told by someone that better practice was to make a long slit in the cardboard along the axis of the weight so the cardboard wouldn't get in the way of the weight.

It seemed to have a positive effect on the problem.

About mid summer I read several articles/threads about the peculiar absence of hillary bumper stickers and yard signs.  I really hadn’t noticed but started paying attention and to this day I have seen about a half dozen hillary bumper stickers.  In fact, I see more faded, peeling obummer/biden bumper stickers than I do hillary bumper stickers.  On Friday, Sat and Sun I logged about 150 miles each day riding north of Atlanta and counted yard signs.  On each day I counted 40-50 Trump signs and NO pro hillary signs.  I did see 5 or 6 “hillary for prison” signs on each day.  The “experts” are calling Georgia a toss-up state, shouldn’t there be a god mix of signs and bumper stickers?

My perspective is that the Democrats know they are going to keep the White House so no need for signs.

The Republicans hope they will keep the White House and are hoping to convince others with the use of signs.

If you took a drive around the inner city areas I think you would see a different trend.
