..you ride over a series of bumps causing the bikes front end, and back end to bounce up/down while pivoting on the throttle causing the bike to accel/decel - accel/decel - etc rapidly.

I routinely ride up a street where this occurs. Aside from the bike bouncing around, the exhaust notes produced while this is happening sounds humorous.

Wondering if there is a name for this?

I'd say it's called playing around.  Or if unintentional then one needs some more practice.

If that's happening, I'd think you need some pull back risers to get the bars closer to you. There should be some bend in your elbows so they can flex on a bump without affecting your throttle. Just a thought.

I had an obese friend with a fast muscle car back in the day. He would push the gas pedal, the car would surge fwd and he would be thrust back on his blubber butt, foot would come off the gas and the car would slow.  In about 60Hz cycles.  He couldn't divine what was happening.  It was obvious and hilarious.  All you could do, if you were short on tact, was tell him to lose 300 lbs or tighten his seat belt - after getting a longer one that would go around him.  I didn't.  Not sure if he really didn't know...

BTW, I am aware I could work at exchanging my barrel for a six-pack. If I was so inclined and motivated.

Now that's funny  2funny

The ripples in the roadway have to be just right as to pitch the bike forward and backwards (rocking the bike). If I'm relaxed on my backrest the exhaust cycle (I would estimate about 62.3Hz) is emphasized, but if I expect it and lean forward it doesn't happen.

There are two thoughts on riding (driving) on washboard type roads.  One is to go slow so you can ease into the ups/downs.  The other is to go fast so that you only hit the ups.   uglystupid2 uglystupid2
