Is there any after this election? I have reservations concerning this.
Different priorities, different attitudes, different goals, different ethics and values, do we have anything in common any longer?

Be nice if we could find some common ground on 1) ethics in Govt, and 2) treatment and care for deserving veterans.
Beyond that, good luck.

Bad things will happen. From natural disasters to terroristic events, it inevitably occurs.
We will know the answer at that point. If the President cannot rise to leadership, things won't be pretty.
With Trump, I think it largely depends on whether he is able to identify and recruit competent individuals to serve in cabinet level positions and whether he will afford them the latitude to do their jobs.
I hope he can do it and intend to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Bad days are ahead.

Thats all well and good. But let us not forget. He has won on a couple of distinct agendas. Immigration - building a wall and deporting the illegal Mexicans. Banning Muslims from our country. He can't just ignore that. The people that voted him in demand it.

The old rule about underpromising & over delivering has been badly violated. When & how this is discovered and the resulting consequences will be.....

I do take a lot of solace in the fact that we are a compassionate, fair country. It's just going to have to come thru in spite of this.

The tremendous void between expectations and reality will be the problem. People actually believe these things are going to happen. The reality will be ugly; just a continuation of the campaign but now being fought against god knows who or what but including many people who know how the game is played. I'm retired. It won't affect me that much but I worry about my children and grandchildren. And, who knows, it might be good for them in the end if it crashes the system and leads to real reform. The people working with children still at home are most likely to be hurt. Mainly I'm pissed that I didn't cash out of the market more. I sold off all my losers and some other things with no gain so I'll make 30% or so on all of that almost overnight.

Pigs fly and it rains frogs. Here's some common ground.... the NorthEast (and old VA) and West, and all cities and big universities, and the Free crap Army, and the main stream media, and especially the wench can all eat dog crap. So can all those who constantly predicted a landslide for the wench.

I also suspect that illegal immigration will slow if not even reverse some. America made a statement yesterday. I really don't think Trump won nearly as much as the Dems and Hillary lost. The media, the pollsters and the established leadership all got America's pulse wrong. We're fed up with PC, with a number of things that should not be. I won't be partying my ass off because Trump won, I will be very happy that Hillary lost. There will be a healing process, hopefully. The Dems really need to reassess their stance and what they have done the last eight years. I thank God SCOTUS will not go into Liberal hands.

there are a lot of speculations from folks who still don't get it. the turnout for Donald Trump was not about a wholesale enthusiasm about his "promises" or even him as an individual. The victory was about the disgust of a large portion of the population for politics as usual.
Some of the intentions articulated during Donald Trump's campaign cannot be accomplished without the backing and involvement of both houses of the congress. Donald Trump, an president elect who has never held another public office, was elected with a historic Republican House and Senate.
The extremely narrow margin of the election demonstrates how deeply and evenly the country is divided. The best things the new President and Congress can do is to move in the direction that their voters expressed support for but to do it while encouraging an environment of compromise and unity among the lawmakers.
Donald Trump delivered his victory speech in a true sense of humility and reaching out. I think that's a good sign. The next sixmonths are going to tell whether this election has further divided or began to unite the populace of our country.

Trump with Reubican control of both the House & Senate is scary.
Congress has been irresponsible for some time. Given the election results, they are all running scared.
These people will stoop to any level to be reelected.
