First I need to say I was wrong regarding the outcome of the election. About a week ago I replied in a thread somewhere where I stated I thought the election was over, meaning Clinton had it.
I stayed up election night to see everything to the end finally closing my eyes somewhere around 4:30-5am only to get up at 6. By the time I got home yesterday I was too wiped out to post but I did try to read through the post election topics here but just could not gather my thoughts enough to reply to any.
One of the biggest things I have taken away from this election is I hope this can open the door for a 3rd party to come to the table. Trump basically came into this as an Independent and proved an outsider can accomplish something. I would hope this will somehow enable real, viable 3rd Party candidates (preferably from the Libertarian Party) to be included in Presidential debates to get their voices heard. It's time to continue to think outside the 2 main choices.
I have to say the Investors Business Daily (IBD) poll did get it right on the outcome of the election.
http://www.investors.com/politics/ibd-tipp-presidential-election-poll/I believe the tipping point of how much people from all areas were willing to stomach came to an end. The "Don't Tread on Me" belief has finally been heard once again.
I'm not going to comment on the protests except it's their right although a little weird and misguided with tones of hypocrisy of not accepting the election results they demanded from Trump.
Finally I have to say now it's time to see what happens. How true to his campaign will he be. He's not President yet so we have to wait fro January to begin his term and by spring we can get a good gauge on where we are headed.
God Bless America, land that I love.
