Thank you to all of our brave Veterans!!! There are some who went into battle and never returned. Some who fought, only to return to many, many personal and societal issues. Some have passed on and some are among us today. For each and every one of you, we salute you with honor and dignity!!

I was at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in DC and saw this former soldier looking for some of his fallen comrades.

That was a great story ! Thanks
I have a third of my Dads ashes. But they are just sitting in my closet. All he ever said was he wanted cremated. I should figure something he would have liked.

Just thought I would do a follow up. We were headed up to the mountains for a couple days in a cabin when you posted the other day. Didn't get a chance to talk to my Dad. But I was able to talk to one of my brothers. And it turns out he had told Steve a long time ago that he would like to be spread at Disneyland. Never had any idea. My Dad and I never talked about such things. It was always football, politics, raising kids. So now my plan is to dress as a Ninja and outsmart the folks at Disneyland.  Smiley I would like to get a pic going down Splash Mountain with his ashes thrown in the air. But I think that is going to be hard to pull off.

Had a great time catching up with my brother and hanging with my grandkids. Now I need a vacation from my vacation. Walking around Seaworld and Disneyland for 3 days is hard on an old man.

Jmencalice, thank you for the impetus to get this done.  cooldude

I'm Not sure how you managed to pull that off.

Very Cool,  I'm sure that your Dad would be proud!

I'll have a spot for my Urn of ashes In one of the walls at the Springfield Missouri Veterans Cemetery. If I precede my Brother-da prez-in death I want my Brother to ride either my M/C or his IF he is Still physically able and stop somewhere between Willow Springs Missouri and Springfield Missouri Veterans Cemetery and scatter a handful of my ashes to the winds along that busy 4 lane. I spent a good portion of my life criss crossing the United States of America In a Big Rig. By releasing some of my ashes MAYBE I can forever be in the wind. My final ride will Also be a P G R Mission.  cooldude  RIDE SAFE.

Last time I was at the Wall was in 2007. I rode in to join up with Rolling Thunder.   We found 43 names on the Wall that day.  39 were killed in an ambush set up by the nva , down by a river .They were all killed within about  four a hour fire fight .   Most were killed trying to retrieve wounded .   That was a sad day !  I don't know how long we were there but I turned and saw what looked like a school class visiting the Wall there that day.   Must have been about 40 or so kids , with teachers , Junior high I think. It was so quite ...they were all watching us not a word from anyone, they were taking it all in. There was 8 of us in our group  and these kids were listening to us talk about each man and how that man had died .  I believe they will remember that for a long time, I know I will.   I think of those kids often .
