Anyone out there have any experience or can recommend a good or top of the line GPS tracking device I can install on my delivery truck so I can follow or track in real time where my drivers are going?  Thanks

Go to spy shop type sites, they have them, check out different site for the best prices. One of the sites below, these sites you can pretty much get anything. BTW, if you have a GPS in your truck, many of the GPS's have a "Where I have been" option in them to see where you or they have been, it show the route.

There are several types available. They get installed in a way that makes them impossible to turn off, or bypass. Almost all the main carriers here have them. I have no idea the brands of equipment, but I'm sure they are easy to find with Google cooldude

Not sure of the When but I was still wrking-8 years ago Feb 17 and our class 8 trucks dispatch knew which side of the parking lot you were parked on. If a truck was reported stolen they could reach out thru the satellite and shut er down. Check with your vehicle manufacturer and see if something isn't already in place you can access. RIDE SAFE.

I don't remember what is on these links, but I had saved them.

Icelander, from the Vermin riders in the PNW, came up to see me, and he had forwarded a link (might be the spotwalla) that I could access and follow his progress.

As for something to add to a vehicle, I don't know why you couldn't access through an employees cell phone, their location.

If your drivers are using smart phones, you already have that capability. It would be sufficient for a few trucks but not a fleet.

Familiarize yourself with the iPhone app, "Find my Friends". I'm sure that the Samsung phones have the same capability, but don't know what it is called.

If I was a business owner/manager, I would want to know where my people are, when ever I wanted to know.

But first, I would have a group meeting, and explain why I was tracking them, and how this would benefit me/the company/them. Then offer a 1-on-1 discussion, to talk over any concerns. Then follow up a few months later.

Some will think this is just Big Bro watching. Some will think this is to be used against them (over watch at all times). Some will see it's value. Actions will speak volumes of what you are actually using it for.

It's your money, for their time. During work, it will be your time they are wasting if they are Dog F-king around. If this is what they are being watched for, then let them know up front, don't lie about it, or it will bit you back.

I've been in a truck, got a call from the manager, asking me to go to a rush job, that he knew I was only a couple of blocks away from. To me, that was great customer service.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I believe they would need the gps on.

Our fleet uses units supplied by verizon. It's a gps that reports via cell phone.
Single box under dash plugs into the obd2 connector.
I'm not sure what the cost per vehicle is but tracking history and speed alerts are among it's many funtions.
