I was talking to the friend I work part time for, we were discussing, some work that needs to be done to a Tesla for airbag testing. And something accrued to me, in the conversation. I was thinking if there is a big deal, whether cell phones can or cannot cause physical harm to our bodies. So my thoughts were, if a person is in an electric car for considerable amounts of time, can there be some adverse health effects over time. Wouldn’t a person be sitting right in the middle of magnetic field? Do you think that could cause health issues over time? They say prolong improper usage of cell phones could cause brain cancer, so sitting in the middle of possible magnetic fields, could it be possible or not. What do you think? I have seen some crazy stuff done with magnet energy in the past. Or do you think we are safe? It just happened to pop in my head!!

I think in todays world, we are surrounded by magnetic fields. Some are very strong, some weak, some from a distance, and some VERY close to us.
Cell phones being used by our head, and in our pockets/hips. A small field but high frequency and close contact.
The wires in our homes, EVERY where! Electrical in the wall, heaters, TV, computers, etc. etc.
What will they do to us? No clue. I don't fully believe the cell phone problems. Can't remember the last time I even heard about them being a problem.
It is a question that needs to be answered. But when can the results be confirmed? Maybe by the time our grand or great children are grown.

I think someone needs to go for a ride, maybe several rides.

I think someone needs to go for a ride, maybe several rides. ...just not on an electric motorcycle!

Maybe you right! But I have to shovel the snow first! I know it sounds crazy, it is just something that came together in my head. Thing is now a day’s people think, that if something don’t hit them in the head like a 2x4 then it is OK and won’t hurt them. Industry always looks out for the public, they would never hurt them, and they would never put profit before health, would they! I mean asbestos and lead and Agent Orange won’t hurt us, right. They would never experiment with the military people in Tuskegee would they? I hope I am wrong and talking crazy, and I am not trying to create a negative image towards electric cars. I just have seen experiments in the past using magnetic fields and energies and wounded if they would apply in this case. I just always love science and understand they have limits. Can’t go biking, so I am going to build another CNC laser. If you have good weather, Ride Safe!!!

What will a magnetic field do? Have you heard of induction heating? Have you seen those shows on How its Made? Heat a large pot of water in 90 seconds.
Magnetic field, place metal part in, and in seconds, cherry red and over to the process (stamp, shape, fit, etc).

I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night so I can tell you that there is quite a difference between the magnetic field contained within an electric motor and Radio Frequency energy produced by your cell phone.

Interesting thing about microwaves, I have some wireless IP cameras, that I use sometimes, well naturally they use microwaves. 2.4ghz. When they are on and I turn on my microwave to warm up some food, it disables the IP cameras. It makes me wonder!
Correct me if I am wrong on this, whether it is waves or frequencies, or any forms of energy, isn't all part of the spectrum of light.

I think they are all spectrums of energy, not light.

I think they are all spectrums of energy, not light. We were taught in physics that visible light, infra red, ultra violet, x-rays, radio waves, microwaves, etc. are all just different frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. -RP

And right at the moment I'm not a big fan of radiation ! But, upon reflection, it did do what it was supposed to do.
