in 1970 i was 18 years old. I had been in the Navy for just over a year. I was a maint pilot on the HH-2D Bell Helicopter. I was attached to Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 4. I flew the helicopters around the base to make sure things I worked on, worked like they were supposed to..and things others worked on, worked. We trusted each other and had some good times in the bars with our fellow Marines. Man did i get some some good ass whoopins...
now kids now days need a safe space? Kids need aroma therapy? and even as young as 3rd graders? This crap is just about to piss me off to the point of losing it. I work with my bosses son who is 23 years old and I want to kick his ass so bad sometimes I just have to walk away from him,,My boss, Marie, Says let him have it but I would get another one of those ass whoopins I dont think I can handle at this age..and whats with the football player that left the field crying like a baby in thursdays game?

another reason i keep coming here, i just read about others problems and mine seem to be petty compared to most...then mine fade away..

now they got me posting about my problems,,man i hope it aint rubbing off...

Where I live the is a AFB about a mile away, and I guess they are called Wart Hogs and Schnook helicopters fly over quite often. It fascinates me when I see the props spin, and appear not really fast, it keeps that thing in the shy.

Far as kids! Many of the new generation are really not bad, it just what is normal to them is not what is normal to us, which is known as the generation gap. It's we as parents create this normal for them, and don't understand what we have done, We were dumber than a bucket of rock as they are when we were young, we just don'r admit it to ourselves.

For every limp noodle looking for a safe place, I'd say there are 10 well adjusted industrious young people with good values and morals. You may not find that many in today's Colleges, but they are out there in the same towns and cities as those that carried the day for Trump. Some day (?) maybe the media will find the value and interest in the lives of young men and women on the flip side of the protesters they flock to and give a voice.

I think we as the older generation have to accept that things have changed for our kids (younger generation) nowadays.  I have a hard time doing that as well when I tell my kid to get up off his butt and do something I tell him to do, lacking ambition.   Even something as so simple as picking up the bigger oak tree sticks in my backyard for 10-20 minutes while I mow the grass in front yard first is not done as it should either not done or not done very well leaving still all kinds of sticks that I still pick up before mowing over them.

same goes for the 20-30 year old crowd at work for the most part.  They either do not want to do it or take forever doing it whining about it or attempt to get their way bitching to our supervisor hoping to get their way and often times it works in their favor.  I would if supervisor just shrug it off and tell them to do it quit whining about it.

back in the day,  if dad told me to do something, I did it NO questions asked and not some 1 hour later.

I know my older brother has a dirty job in a factory jack of all trades welding and dealing with metal fabrication and comes home grungy and dirty everyday.  His boy out of the house now commented to me once he does not like seeing his dad coming home so tired and dirty does not want that type of job to do.  I guess is fine if going into something other field, but see so many kids/young adults taking the easy way out.

Tell the little darlins what they told us on the ship. In a bad attack on the ship if all seems lost-bend over and kiss yer ass goodbye! Iffin they are THAT askeered maybe they shouldn't even git outa bed! Have em pull the blankets up over their head and play something soothing for them! Need a gag or puking emoji. RIDE SAFE.

A10 Wart Hogs and CH 47 Chinooks.   Some fine flying machines.   cooldude
