Samsung Galaxy3 is ....damn if I know.... its old

How do I go about downloading or copying voice messages

I saved messages from my dad & mom and others of kids singing happy birthday over the years. Now with dad gone 3 yrs  the kids out of the house and wife bustin my chops about the old phone would like to save these priceless memories multiple places as I dont trust either verizon or the cloud to keep em safe

I have accidentally deleted one once and am afraid to play them for fear of being a dumbass and losing my dad's voice

Probably a stone age method would be best but cant think of how to do it

Phone charger should allow the phone to be connected with your computer. (USB??) You can then download the files to the computer hard drive. Or-get a cassette recorder, set it by the phone, and record them while they play. If all else fails, find a high school kid and ask.

I bought a tele-tool 2000 which connects between the handset and the phone on an old school corded phone. It's basically a "bug" for your phone that connects to your computer using the mic port.  Installed "Audacity" on the computer. (or any other record/edit audio software. Audacity is a free one, works well.)  Now I can record anything that comes over the landline.  Call the VM line for your cell, record them while playing.  You can save in WAV format and others too IIRC, on the computer.

You can get free aps for your cell that record calls as well.  Save them to a file and download as Valker said.

BTW I recorded my folks phone calls for the last 27 years.  Now they are both gone but I have hours of their voices.  Also saved some video calls in recent years. Nice mementos.

I've got the same problem with my cell. I have quite a few voicemails from family and friends that I don't want to lose. Once I clean the rest out, I have space for 2-3 messages. My mailbox is always full.

Normally, voice messages and greetings reside on the service providers servers, not your phone.  You can probably log onto your account and manage your messages as well as a host of other features.  I have mine setup to email my messages to me whether tthey are left on my cell or home phone and I can save them as a WAV file or forward them to others as appropriate.

There is a service that will save them to your computer or a CD for a small fee.

You can also talk to your service provider to see if they have a simple way to do it.

My son figured it out easy

Aux cord from phone to computer
line in

open voice recorder

call your voice mail, enter password and it starts recording

just click play

Now they are all saved on my computer and he also emailed them to me and to himself (belt and suspenders)

Thanks Corey !

Glad he could get it done so easily. That's what I was trying to convey.
