 Hello everyone,
  My name is Timothy Champion
I just recently purchased my first  Valkrie. I've wanted one for many years and just recently found a good deal on one I believe, Itis currently at the dealer getting the carbs overhauled from sitting for over 5 years or so. Having every service that I can think of done before I have my first ride.I live in northeast Ga. about 25 miles from Helen Ga.I am really looking forward to riding up here. I was wondering if there are any riding clubs in the area that anyone may know about that I can contact, I would love to ride with others with these beautiful beasts.

I forget whether it is the North Georgia Motorcycle Club that has members who hang
out here, or the North Georgia Mountain Riders. They both have a web presence.

A lot of Valkyrie riding gets done in North Georgia, I'm from SC, just over the line
from Clayton.

Hey Tim, welcome to the VRCC. you're going to love it here, I know I have, this is a great group of people and the amount of info on these bikes and mechanical help you can get is tremendous.  cooldude

Enjoy the craziness  Smiley

1 word of warning, if this will be the first time you ride a Valkyrie that is fresh and tuned as it should be, don't just pull out of the dealer and snap that throttle wide open, you better get use to how she feels and reacts first.

Congrats and sure hope the dealer makes it purr like a kitten for you ready to go again.  It took me a few rides to get used to the bigness.  I was actually a tad bit scared to ride such a big bike after not riding anything for 10 years was on a 700cc Magna prior.  After the 3rd ride or so on it,  being scared of it went away very quickly since the VAlkyrie is so well mannered and balanced the weight just melts away, all except for me anyways if loaded down all 3 I/S bags with wife on board at uneven pavement while stopping can get a tad bit tipsy/heavy then.

Just be careful where and how you park since is embarrassing 3xs now having to ask for help pushing the bike backwards uphill.  NOT many of us can do it alone and 2 of those 3 were on gravel so even less likely to push backwards uphill with NO grip for shoes.

The Valk can be powerful if wanted to, but I find it more of a controlled power unlike a crotch rocket.  One of the best things I like besides the looks of course, is how mild mannered it is say for example leaving it in 5th gear doing 30 mph not needing to shift gears all the time like a Vtwin must.
